The books freaking rock. I couldn't stand the movie version of The Two Towers, though, until I decided that it was its own movie and not based off the book in anything but a loose manner.

Meh, my only real grioe about TTT was how different Faramir was from his book counterpart. He was supposed to be older and wiser than Boromir, but was excactly the opposite... :?

opposite of boromir or opposite of what he was supposed to be? Well he was smart enogh to let frodo go on with his quest... but then again if he didn't it would have been a major fuck up in the movie ...

Boromir was actually the older of the two. Which is why it is a crisis for Gondor when he dies: he was the next in line for the stewardship.

I will agree that the movie's treatment of Faramir is simply sad. He's one of the most virtuous characters in the book, but in the movie he's just a copy of his brother. I have a bad feeling that the third movie is going to have Aragorn hooking up with Eowyn (in the book she & Faramir get together).

For anyone interested in the third movie, check out this page: http://www.filmreleases.com/filmreleases/. Click on "2003 Film Releases" and scroll down to December (especially Dec 16). If you're lucky enough to be near one of 100 theaters, you may have a very busy month. LotR, three weekends in a row.

The whole Arwen bit in the second movie confused me. Did she actually leave Middle Earth, or did she head off to help Aragorn? In books, though she herself doesn't go to help, she sends him help (more rangers, a royal standard, stuff like that). I can see them actually sending her to help him out.

Supposedly the second movie was the one which deviated from the books the most. I just hope that everyone winds up where they need to be and married to whom they need to be at the end of the third movie. I'm still scared to no end about the fact that the second movie ended too early... it was supposed to be a nice cliff-hanger... they shouldn't have changed that.

no, it think they chose a good point to end the movie. Though the one the book ended with was pretty good too.

What scares teh shit out of me is when people were bitchign about the ending of fellwoship of the ring ... a lot of people i talked to were loke

"OMG WTF thats teh worst way to end a movie ... he jsut left what ahppens to every oen else?"

Unfortunatly those dip shits needed to have the fact that it's not the end of the movie explained to them ... the end of the movie is comming out this christmas.
