it could be the fact that misato, shinji's mother figure spends half her time cleaning shinji's tonsils and wonders why shinji rejects her as a mother figure... well ok, thats from the EoE voice over comentary ... for me it's hard to explain ... possibly becaseu i'm just dense ... but you need to watch the series. you'll see for yourself.

That... and a few other things. The maturelly drawn 14 year olds, the sexual situations, and probably biggest of all is the religion element.
Fighting angels, the cross shaped explosions, the many referances to Judeo-Christian mythology. Some people just take it the wrong way.

meh, you'll always have your idiots who will misinterpret everything, despite how much time you waste explaining things to them...

harsh isn't he? :?

Uhm... actually, it was all in one sitting. I mean, yeah, we stopped to eat a few times, but yeah, my friend and I spent about 16 hours over Labor Day last year just watching it...

What's up with the code thing, btw?

correction ... if you watch eva, then jsut watch eva, don't toss other shows into the mix. When your done with eva and your done twitching in teh corner resume your normal watching habits. Eva is like Grappa ... it dosn't mix well with anything, except water.

Ah dammit! I think I mixed it. Can I just watch Death and Rebirth as a subsitute for the entire series?
You can try *managed to give a friend of his a crash course on EVA using D&R*, but understand, there's still gonna be a few bits of EoE that it won't help to make sense of...you've been warned

I didn't really care the series,
I got up to the scene where all 3 are in the showers and turned it off!

I did see the Endings and, yeah, it does take a few minutes to realize what is
taking place verses what they are showing ^^

Its Symbolic - like a girl having nothing-on and opening her arms to you:
( she doesn't want sex, she is open to you and will accept whatever you want from her and like a puppy-dog - will roll on its back and show that she is submissive to whoever she knows will make her happy. )

If you've never seen Visual Open-ness displayed like that then - now you have something new to think about.

It's a great series, but I have to say that those walking Eva encyclopedias who think they know everything about it and are the only ones who "got it" right are seriously pissing me off. :? The greatest thing about the show is that in can be interpreted in many different ways.

Eva is the most disapointing anime ever what a way to fuck up a good series. Oh well at least we get Hikari and Asuka to wack to. And no not rei she is so so at best.
