little bugs :S

Post by sexy_no_jutsu » Sun Oct 05, 2003 12:50 pm

hi, i was wondering if someone could help me.

lately when i edit the footage i get little bugs in it like 1 frame filled with wierd blocks during big changes in the scene, or that it shakes for a millisecond after every cut. I think it has something to do with XviD, cuz in older animes (wich were mainly encoded with DivX) I never experianced this problem but with the new fumoffu anime and the latest naruto eps I do. i also don't see this bug when just watching the anime, only when its on the timeline these things appear.(I use wmm2 btw)

i probably just need a newer version or something, but I really don't know anything about all that stuff.

please help me.

well, fansub is the only thing i can use right now :(

still, I found a way now. i imported the part I wanna use with Ulead, then saved it as a avi. it takes a bit of the quality, but it works :)

still I would like to know how i could fix the main problem :(

The problem is interframe compression. You can't use Divx/Xvid to edit. Save the video in huffy format and then edit it.

Run it through VirtualDub with the compression set to hufyuv - and add in a few filters (cropping, smooth) if your source has any visible flaws.

Then you need to update your codecs. It's easy. ^_^ Just go to http://www.doom9.org and under 'downloads' get the Gordian Knot pack - that should set you up nicely. Do that, then try Vdub. [You can also check the guides for 'audio and video' - they tell where to get the best programs/codecs/etc.]

Hey, its a little off topic, but how do you "hear" huffYUV in your head when you read the word on screen? Whats the correct way to read it? Is it:

"Huff - Ee - Yuv"
OR
"Huff - Why - You - Vee"
OR
"Huff - Yuv"

??

I always called it
HUFF - Y - U - V

except when i shorten it to just "huffy"
