Evanescence has a good number of songs out...not all on the album. People just aren't listening to the others. I have some AMV's done with them but I refused to use Bring Me to Life because it was over used and I can't really find an anime that matches with it that I own. I think the key is to manipulate the video so it tells a good story. Bring Me to Life can go so many ways but it takes planning in the story department to pull off something like that.

Heh, you missed mine, lol....

I was like, the first one to make an Evangelion/Bring me to Life vide as well. Plus Fyrt gave it 4 stars, so its not too bad at all.

The first time I had even heard an Evanescence song was here on the org. It was Bring me to Life set to Xenosaga cut-scenes, and it was a damn good video. In fact, I later saw the actual Evanescence music video for that song and thought it was crap compared to the AMV I had downloaded.

But I agree this place is getting saturated with that stuff. I have a whole mess of music CD's in a rack next to my computer, and just about none of them have songs that have been used here that I've found yet (I just recently got one of Rozard's videos that used Jack Johnson, Kudos to you, man, Campfire Fairytales is a sweet album, and your AMV was pretty cool. Guess I ought to make my lazy butt op it sometime, hehe).

Sorry double post. Figured I'd post the link to that Xenosaga video, it's not a bad download if you want to check it out.

Arigatomyna: For the longest time I thought I was the only person who actually got the Neverending Story reference in that song. At least none of my friends ever did 'til I mentioned it to them. It's good to see that somebody else actually listens to the lyrics and not just the melody, if you know what I mean.

In other news, I changed my mind about doing that vid I mentioned before. Did a search for Evanescence amvs, and there really are a lot. I can probably find another song that works.

I should probably mention the CNAE Music Video Competition this year.

Or should I call it the Evanescence Video Competition?

3 Evanescence videos, 2 of which listed among the winners. And the contest was barely over an hour's length.

It was mildly irritating, though the vids were alright. Still, I wish people stuck to the less-covered ground.

Heh, I guess the 'call out my name' and 'bring me to life', and the 'lost in this nothingness' (could be off a bit) lyrics are a little too vague or something. I don't know. It's that theme that made me like the song to begin with. I just wish someone would use it so I can top watching these vids. :?

I never really got why everybody seemed to like them so much. I must have just been immune to it since I had heard of them before they got big, since I live in Arkansas and would often listen to them on the radio at college. *shrugs*

My only beef with people making vids out of the song is for the same reason that I have a beef with Linkin park vids . . . people dont actually listen to the lyrics and see what they hell they are singing. Almost all of their (Linkin Park and Evanescence) songs are about breaking up *cough* In the End *cough* but it seems the only thing people seem to hear is the music and a few select words. *sigh*
