Calculus is easy. It's the algebra involved that's hard!

What calculus class are you taking (differential calculus, integral calculus, differential equations, or something higher up)? I can help out with the first two, and maybe a chapter or two of the third, but that's as far as I've gotten at this point. Just don't ask me anything about graphing calculators, because I still don't know how to use one. Also, I haven't touched matricies in quite some time, so don't ask about those either.

Calculus and the algebra involved is very very easy for me. It's basically a blow off class for me. I can't wait to get into Calculus 2 and 3, but I'm a strange one. I actually want to go as far in math as possible and eventually get a Ph.D. in it.

Calculus is pretty easy for me, but probably because I take Calculus for the Technologist I in RIT. It's practically the same as a regular calculus course, but it's MORE PRACTICAL. Hehehe, this is what I get in order to major civil engineering.

I can probably help you with some topics. So far we learned how to graph functions using derivatives.

BTW, I was sorta being serious with the pointed stick thing...
The Mysterious Case of Billy's G String wrote:"You are familiar with the concept of the pointed stick?" he asked.

Not surprisingly, she shook her head, no. She was not going to escape entirely without punishment. She would be forced to sit attentively and respectfully while the Vicar espoused the lesser known "doctrine of the pointed stick".

"A pointed stick helps you to focus on the real world and the task in hand. We should be thankful for that call in the same way we should be thankful for the loud police siren that disturbs us as we make our way peacefully towards Starbucks on a sunny afternoon. The siren completely ruins your day, and generally pisses you off. But it also wakes you from your normal catatonic state and helps you to focus on the task in hand."

"Just like a baby crying." The Vicar was continuing. "If ever you need to concentrate hard, I suggest you give a nearby baby a good poke. You are then forced to concentrate hard to shut the crying from your mind. So let us shut all distractions from our minds, and concentrate on Diva's backing vocals."

Calculus was a bit easy after I cried endless nights over it. Then college came around......

I actually "cheated" my way through the AP Calc test--on the multiple choice part, I plugged the answers into the equation and figured out which one worked the best. I pulled a passing score on it, which meant that I didn't have to take any math classes in college. Which makes me happy, since I, too, am an English major.

Yeah... calc is evil. I didn't sleep senior year of high school because of it.

I never thought calculus was that bad really. The fact that I had good teachers/professors probably helped. Now abstract algebra, (and to a lesser extent, real analysis), are where the problems start popping up. I hate proofs. :x

calculus looks hard. but then again i can barely pass my geometry honors class. i do not look foward to any forms of math in the future. it all seems very scary and unhappy. haha. good luck with your calculus hw.
