But it's sad that these are the things untouched and things like the original story and content is edited out. Not that I want the music changed, but...actually nevermind I'd rather have *nothing* taken out.angelx03 wrote:At least the original BGM is RETAINED instead of REPLACED. Also the original names are ALL kept instead of being changed unlike most anime series on KidsWB and Fox Box. That's what I go for mostly.
And yeah, Fox changing music in Escaflowne made no sense. The music is clearly in a specific place for a reason.

The problem is us anime fans who enjoy having this stuff come over to us from Japan are in professions other than TV production. The formula for a decent anime station in the states would require someone who isn't a business suit to be the one in charge of decisions like what to show and when (i.e. somebody who knows what the hell they're doing). I don't get cable of any kind except the Army's crappy AFRTS, so I don't know if there's anything decent to speak of or not.
So, all you teens getting ready to graduate high school, do us a favor and major in broadcasting or something when you get to college.

Totally agree. Don't get me wrong, I know it's a business and the aim is ot make money, but we as fans can still be angry when they make a "bad decision."Cole wrote:The problem is us anime fans who enjoy having this stuff come over to us from Japan are in professions other than TV production. At the same time, I'm kind of sick of people yelling at me with the "But they're doing it for the fans, blah blah blah." Certainly not. As you have just said, it's about making the almight dollar and that's why it went to Toonami since swords and ninjas = ratings with children. If they gave two shits about you or any other fan, they'd listen to us.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the impact it makes (well other than DBZ fanboys), but I hate when people use that argument *everytime* when in this case it's obviously not applicable because all they did was not listen to the fans.
And yes, I have acquaintances who use that argument everytime. Like it's supposed to make me not angry or like it truly applies on all shows and all stations.
