Anyone here ever write any techno?

Post by Ixiel » Fri Oct 10, 2003 3:27 pm

Hey folks, I was looking to buy a loop-based music creation program. Any of you ever use any? I've got no experience writing loop-based music, so it'd have to be pretty user-friendly. Thanks in advance,

Ix

No man.
It's like this

Bar 1-4 Instrument 1
Bar 4-8 Instrument 1 + Instrument 2
Bar 8-12 Instrument 1 + Instrument 2 + Synth
Bar 12-36 Instrument 1 + Instrument 2 + Synth + Voice Sample
Bar 36-40 Break in music with slow build up to All Instruments + Synth + Voice Sample
Bar 40-End All Instruments + Synth + Voice Sample

Done.

I'm not looking for style bits, though thanks for the thought. I'm looking for what program to put that kind of info into. Thanks,

Sorry, missed that bit El Farlo. I've tried Fruity Loops, but I suspect there might be something better. It'll do in a pinch though. Thanks,

Acid is pretty popular.
Reason was used by Front 242 for their last album.

Fruityloops is much easier to use though, so if you're learning, I'd go with that. Otherwise, Acid seems pretty useful if you have the samples or softsynths to run in it.
If nothing else, harsh noises get your attention.

there are some great programs out there. How much you willing to spend?? You can get some basic entry level programs that won't do much for ya for free or some really great programs with lotsa options for close to $1000.
