steel angel kurumi... worth getting?
So, some opinions from some fans of the series and some not... Should I get this on dvd. Looks intriguing.

The Tenchi-verse
Do you like Tenchi Muyo!? Do you like Oh My Goddess!?
Basically, in the first season series, this guy gets to travel with 3 female androids and one female doctor. Two of whom show affections towards him. The third is influenced towards another...
The second season series, similar story I am told (bought but haven't seen yet), but the guy is replaced with a girl.
Excellent animation, catchy theme song. They super-deform (chibi) whenever appropiate, the DVDs have tons of extras and you get neat little finger game things in the boxes. All in all, I love the series. I'd recommend it... would you?

Re: The Tenchi-verse
Or, for that matter, Hand Maid May, or Mahoromatic, or Chobits? Seems like there were quite a few "boy-meets-cute-robot-girl" shows around that time. Not that that's BAD, . . .Yggdrasil wrote:Do you like Tenchi Muyo!? Do you like Oh My Goddess!?
Oh, and don't forget all of the other characters' affections towards others.Yggdrasil wrote:Basically, in the first season series, this guy gets to travel with 3 female androids and one female doctor. Two of whom show affections towards him. The third is influenced towards another...

I'd say it's good; I'm currently re-watching the series (they just brought out the last of the second season on DVD in the US).Yggdrasil wrote:Excellent animation, catchy theme song. Hellsing has a lot of swearing, but its not as funny as when Krinka swears in DVD 3 of the series. The first time she started swearing I was like then I was rolling. What other series can you see a cute, well dubbed, anime girl swear like that. Thats something I'm not likely to see in another anime anytime soon and I thought it was well worth my money to see it. I thought it fit her personality better then the subbed version did anyhow.
Overall, I thought the anime was pretty funny and had a good story to it. There is a very obvious difference between the subs and the dubs but in terms of quality they're about the same. Its more of a preference choice.

You know, its going to be hard reading those subs with just one eye. Did you want some earplugs instead?

I would highly recommend this series! and yes even in DUB!
it's very happy and fun to watch, and I love that it's in the Mini episode format, you feel like you get more bang for your buck that way!
The Encore and Second season aren't QUITE as good as the first, but if you liked the first season, the you definatly enjoy the others, OH! and my advice, watch the commentaries on the Encore disk! RIOT!

well, lets see now...
the main reason why i reckon the sub is better is mainly due to the person they chose to do kurumi's voice.
subbed original jap voice - cute, okay-ish voice.
english, inferior voice - 'shuchyoface, biatch!' voice. nuff said, really.
...
okay, so that's an exaggeration, but still, i loved the sub more. and anyway vancore, since when does having to read subs detract from the show? slow reader?
