Sometimes they start a new game as a different person, but when this happens in real life, it ruins friendships and erodes trust in the people who fell for it. It's called Hemophillia. I'm not saying that is what happened here, but it does sound like it....if I am wrong, then you have my sympathy either way actually....
And if this isn't the case, pehaps the parent/authority figure does not want the child on the internet anymore and the brother was just being an ass by saying she died
