AWA Expo & Iron Chef

I was wondering how you pick what's shown?
Because, for expo, you have so many videos... How do you pick which ones to show? Is it the first people who get their entries in are shown first?
Or do you watch them all and play the ones that you think are good in the alloted time?
Or do you just select randomly.

Also, how do people get chosen for Iron Chef? I know that the winner gets to chose their next opponent, but how did the first pair get chosen? What if the opponent doesn't show up for Iron Chef? Is there a stand-in ready?

Just curious about this.... It's been on my mind for awhile.

For Expo I'm pretty sure that all entries are shown.

Iron Chef is Quu's contest, and as such, he chooses the contestants. The winner doesn't get to choose their next opponent.

They show at least one video an editor enters in expo. They'll decide which video of your entries to show, unless, during the blocked expo hours, you request that a certain video of yours be shown. I believe that's how it works.

I must've heard wrong at the end of Iron Chef last year. Oh well... -cleans out ears-

Yes, okay, one video from each editor, but how are those picked(if the request block didn't exist)?
Do they watch ever video the creator entered in and pick one, or randomly choose one?

And the stand-in question for Iron Chef I am still wondering about. =\

Well, one year Joe Croasdaile dropped out about an hour before the contest (even though he was at the con), so they pretty much picked the challenger out of the crowd...or so I hear.

But no, they don't assign a stand-in. Quu makes sure that the person he picks is going to be at the con for sure.

They have to watch every video, how else would they give out the Expo awards? I would guess they would play the video they thought was the best, but I'm sure there are some that are picked at "random". I'm pretty sure they had a sheet at some point with the videos/editors, wether they had their picks to play noted is something I don't know. Quu or M C Wagner or anyone else that worked with them would have to give you specifics about that.
