I've never been to an anime con before. So I was wondering if anybody could really tell me what goes on and maybe inparticular the Canadian National Anime Expo? I'm thinking of going, since it's this weekend, but I just want some info from the fans.

I went for a couple of years several years ago. I was not impressed. The only reason I'd go these days is because I also have friends in Toronto, but work is busy around this time of year. Keep in mind the following is based on being there in '98 and '99.
CNAnime is one of those corporate-run, "three-in-one" conventions. If you're sufficiently interested in sci-fi and comics as well, I guess you might like it, but I'm not. (not enough for those portions to be really interesting to me)
Unlike most other anime cons, it runs 9-to-5 on Saturday. (or 10 to 6, whatever) A couple of things are run after hours, like an anime movie at a theatre, but if you've seen it, tough.
Anyway, last time I went, it felt like a giant dealers room with some events tacked on. Hopefully it's improved.
