Kodocha DVDs?

I've been looking around for Kodomo no Omocha DVDs, and have found a few places, such as this one and this one, selling English and Chinese-subtitled versions at what seems to be a surprisingly low price (eg $60 for the first 52 episodes). They're listed as being released by "Animation Video", which sounds rather suspicious to me. Has anyone actually licensed Kodocha, or are these bootlegs?

Definitly Bootlegs. Right now the only official DVD release of Kodomo No Omocha is in Japan. All 102 eps have been released on DVD. The ones you are looking at are bootlegs, the clues are the Chinese and English subtitles. Also if they say they are "region free" that means that they are chinese bootlegs. Right now in japan, a Kodomo DVD containing 5 eps goes for 30 bux, so the price is also a dead give away.

Im not gonna tell you its wrong or anything to get the bootlegs, but you should no what they are before you make any descisions to get them.

BTW, if you want to get a hold of the official Jap DVDs then go here. They dont have subtitles but they are still good for AMV's.

That's kind of what I figured. :) I knew about CDJapan already, and would much rather buy from them than get bootlegs. I really appreciate the info - now I know what the tip-offs are. Thanks!

I know someone who has the bootleg DVD set. The subtitles are GHETTO-FAB HORRIBLE

Yeah. Truthfully, if you wanna just watch the show, just watch the fansubs that KTP is putting out. THey're up to episode 34 now... they move slowly, but it's good quality.

I've seen the whole series fansubbed, but there's a part of the 1st season OP that I was thinking of using in an AMV. I'll either buy a legit DVD or come up with another option. :)
