I wholeheartedly agree, but a lot of people disliked EoE and Love Hina Again.rogue_noir wrote:Good Sequels:

Sucky Sequels:

But hey, I like it a little on the dark/strange side. Its nice sometimes.
Bad sequels:
AHEM! AHEM! *Ninja Scroll TV* COUGH! COUGH!
I've been hearing mixed reviews for Full Metal Panic? Fumuffu (see other thread in this Index). Full Metal Panic is a very good series, so I can't wait to see it just the same.
Lodoss War TV- the original was no masterpeice, but compared to the second it was (Great Opening Credits though).
Good sequels:
The 2nd Season of Ranma 1/2 (the show was ACTUALLY cancelled briefly at the end of season 1 (episode 18 I think), and public outcry led to the very successful 2nd season (which then led to 5 additional seasons, several OAV's, and two Films). The first season is absolutely classic, but the 2nd season is very good in its own regard as well. A huge fan of the hyped Ranma 1/2 series, I felt no letdown whatsoever)
Ah My Goddess Movie: Better than the original series in my opinion (I saw the series first).
Onegai Twins. Very interesting and surprising spin off of Onegai Teacher.

sequels
My fave anime has a sequel...but fans of the original hate it. I have yet to see it and knowing the ending, I'm not sure I want to...but then again, there's a third part running as manga in Japan. From what I've read, though, it just isn't the same.

LHA is nowhere near as good as the last four volumes of the LH manga, IMHO. Largely because Kanako (Keitaro's sister) gets a LOT more time to have her character developed. Though near the end, the plot just keeps getting crazier and crazier...rogue_noir wrote:Good Sequels:

general rule of thumb ...
hollywood sequels = suck.
anime sequals = !always suck.
There are very few exceptions ... Don't call LOTR sequels ... because to me they aren't ... they were filmed dirrectly one after another rather then waiting a year or two and trying to cash in on a decent movies poularity ... like with the mummy returns ... Technicaly the matrix really isn't a sequal either ... not in my books atleast ... all the screen plays were written well before they were filmed ... IIRC.
(bu the way ! = not, it's a C logical expression)

No, not Gatekeepers. Weiss Kreuz. I'm not a fan of Hollywood sequels - they have a thing for slaughtering great movies. LOTR is most definitely NOT a sequel.
