Question on spoiler content

Post by akolleth » Tue Nov 18, 2003 11:31 am

Yeas another newbie question. I can see some of you rolling your eyes, but this one is an actual relevant question (I think).

I am new to creating AMV's and loved what I saw in Otakon. My question is what level of spoilers is acceptable when making a film? I know that the cons do warn about spoilers existing, but what is the general consensus about including serious spoilers into an AMV? Is it accepted, or is is kinda frowned upon?

Spoilers are accepted to a certain extent. However, you have to specify that there'll be spoilers.

Spoilers are going to happen. There is an understanding that if you watch an amv contest you are very likely to see spoilers for all sorts of shows.

I've seen spoilers in AMVs sometimes, but since it was so short or didn't stand out on its own, I never realized it until I actually got to that part in the series/movie. In that case, no harm done.

Personally, if there is something I'm using that *might* be a spoiler, I just mark it as such to be safe. Nobody will complain(I should hope) if you mark something as a spoiler, and it ends up not being one. Vice versa, though...
