*sigh* I didn't read the Manga. I don't bother reading Manga. Manga, to me, is a stupid waste of time. Dragon Ball Z isn't a filler anime is the biggest load of bullshit I have EVER been told on this forum. It's COMPLETE filler, designed to drag out and do nothing more than sell tapes. Akira Toryama (sp?) even said so himself. Directly from the japanese version. Fight scenes with 10 minuites of back and forth banter and rediculious laughing and 30 seconds of fighting is FILLER. Cut scenes to other WORLDS who are trying to (and end up being unsuccessful) get to the world the fight is on, which is nearly 3 WEEKS AWAY ... IS FILLER.

What characters are completely unecessary? Bulma? I think not, she is essential to the show!
It is not essential to continuously cut to Bulma attempting to (again, unsucessfully) radio earth for help during intense fight scenes. Did I mention it was All the time? Ok, Vegita and Frieza are FINALLY going to square off and fight after 20 minuites of "I'm more powerful than you" Bullshit. Quick, we've got 5 minuites of tape left! Cut to Bulma!
Yes, yes they did, they ruined everything.. EVERYTHING.. the emotion, drama, characters, fights.. EVERYTHING!
Your opinion. I liked the dub.

Oh, that classic complaint.. so imagine five minutes went by..who cares..

I care when I'm spending $60 on 3 tapes to finally see how this ends when it should have been concluded in (and I timed this once) 25 minuites. 3 tapes contain approximately 180 minuites of footage. You do the math. Frieza vs. Goku. One episode. One.
you said some stuff about ....the battles...
I have no idea what you mean. I thought the first time Goku and Vegita squared off that it was one of the most intense battles I have ever watched in anime.
You thougherally enjoyed Dragonball Z? I find that hard to believe. After all that bashing? Were you being sarcastic or something?
Please note: I am critically acclaimed for my emotional Dragon Ball Z videos. People like what I do with DBZ. I made primarily DBZ videos when I first started, and actually... as a breath of fresh air to an oversaturated DBZ video community, was able to make a name for myself depicting DBZ in a way fans and non-fans alike could enjoy (the videos I made) .. thus, I consider myself a HUGE fan of the series.

Ack! I forgot that one. :shock: Pretty damn sad since I actually have the first dvd. ~_~;;

It's on my 'like' list right now, and I think it may rise to 'love' if I ever get the rest of it. ^_^;; I've read a lot of spoilers for it, so I'm pretty sure I'll love the rest.

Eh, don't try to scare me away! :? There are a few anime that are depressing in a way that doesn't bother me. With Berserk, I actually got the first dvd (decided to watch the series) because of an angsty romance vid I saw a year or so back (involving Gutts and a certain person that I shouldn't mention since I think it's a spoiler o.O?? ), and scenes from what I think might be the last episode or two of the anime (still not sure *exactly* what I was seeing) just that it was sad. It gave me my first emotional intro to the series. Depressing. And the first dvd confuses me to no ends (another thing I tend to hate). But for some reason I don't mind so much with this anime. That happens ever so often - I break all my own rules and make an exception. ^_^; That's what I expect to do with Berserk.

It's like Haunted Junction - I tend to hate slapstick comedy type anime, and happy-go-lucky-random-silliness anime. But with that one I enjoyed it all, even the most ridiculous parts. It just depends on the anime whether or not I make an exception. ^_^;;

Heh, I prefer the one with Kaoru and Sanosuke - not the ovas (not even that oddly drawn 'sequel' ova - Reflections I think). See my note on the last page about my reaction to Samurai X. Great anime, but something I hated watching. ^_^;;

As for the rest - I don't like Inuyasha because I don't like Kagome or Kikyo - and most of the anime is about them. Escaflowne - I hated Hitome's character, and the romance seemed way too quick for me (I just didn't see it happening). I'm not big on pretty girls (though I *do* adore Hikaru from MKR - gorgeous, adorable, proud, dependable, stubborn, kicks ass - everything I'd want in a female leading character) so I rarely like anime that aims to show pretty girls for the fans (Love Hina).

I actually have a different reason for hating a lot on my 'I think I'll dislike' list. For instance, Cowboy Bebop bored the crap out of me when I watched parts of it, I didn't like the animation, and the storyline wasn't very interesting (to me). Outlaw Star I liked for about 2 episodes, but stopped watching rather quickly - the animation and the main characters turned me away.

VHD Bloodlust was nice to watch once, but aside from being pretty the entire sideplot with D and the girl seemed forced and unnecessary - just a replacement for that ugly blonde in the original anime (sorry if anyone thought she was pretty ^_^;; ) - it added a 'sensitive' side to D but I didn't think it was necessary for the movie at all. And the ending - very expected, I saw it all coming way ahead of time, especially the final scenes (reminded me of the 'running through the field' scene in the original way too much). I just found this movie to be a pretty anime with a lot of unneeded characters who weren't there long enough for me (the viewer) to care about, and a plot that was very easy to predict (for me) the first time through. It's still pretty, and I don't mind watching pretty vids for it, but I doubt I'll ever actually sit down and watch the movie again.
