Worst Con Story Contest (WCSC)
Ok, here's the deal
I'll give people a week to post their worst con stories
the winner with ether get a forum signature (that has the award icon on it)
or I may do an AMV of their chosing. Depending on how bad the
story is. So why do I want them? Well, I can change the names involved
and use in my up coming con surival panel at Anime Boston. Any takers?

I went to a con. ANd it just sucked. It was called Nekocon. All the AMVs were second rate shit made with the subtitles still in most of their footage. Almost none of the guests showed up, and the majority of the dealer room was shit you coulda gotten at a comic book store for less cash. And i wasted 35 bucks for a weekend pass.

Con survival? I'm no whiner but I was at a con that actually became Survivor. This is really not a con nightmare story but rather an example of when it really matters to be prepared when you go to a con.
Katsucon 2003 got snowed in by a big snow storm. By order of the State of Virginia we were not allowed to leave the hotel for two days after the con ended. Otaku were reduced to foraging for food or ordering room service. Cup Ramen became a valuable commodity.
My group wasn't too badly affected. We were prepared. We had packed a cooler full of meat and had brought a George Foreman grill. So we ate well for those two days. My laptop provided hours upon hours of anime entertainment and I had internet access using Juno dial up. I was the only member with any kind of a credit history so I didn't have a problem covering the rooms on my Mastercard. Credit is great when you have a real emergency. And many of our friends who did not have a room but were also trapped we let into our room and they chipped in. Sure, I missed what was supposed to be my first day of work back home, but today I'm still working there and I enjoy my job. Basically everybody at the con was really upbeat about being trapped. We put on our own con during those days and I met a lot of new people. I really enjoyed the experience and plan to return next year.
