Oh I've heard all those bands, but I'd never seen that page. And that's like the only place I get music from. That and http://www.lasercd.com/ are both great for metal. The End is much better for the real heavy shit though. And free shipping. \m/

And I agree, more people should take a look at those underground bands.

I'm gonna be different.

I'm recommending some synthpop bands and songs:

De/Vision - "I Regret" is one of their best, but it's all good
Covenant - "Bullet" and "Dead Stars"
Wolfsheim - "Kunstliche Welten" and "Approaching Lightspeed"
Iris - "The Way I Live My Life"
Seabound - "Rome On Fire"
Neuroticfish - "Velocity" and "Wake Me Up"
Fictional - "Blue Lights" and "Hangman"
If nothing else, harsh noises get your attention.

the beatles - theyre all good, but rubber soul and revolver are the best ones

led zeppelin - led zeppelin II is the best rock album ever.

the jimi hendrix experience - are you experienced is a goddamn experience to hear (LOLOL IM SO CLEVER)

the doors - the first album roxxors

the who - whos next kicks the ass

the rolling stones - beggars banquet

matthew sweet - girlfriend

frou frou - [im so embarrased] details

weezer - the blue album RAWK

the talking heads - remain in light

the foo fighters - the colour and the shape

the darkness - they only have one :p

seatbelts - cowboy bebop soundtrack :p

the pillows - flcl soundtrack :p:p

the sneaker pimps - becoming x is really the only one worth having

black sabbath - we sold our soul for rock and roll (double album > single)

pink floyd - dark side of the moon

rem - too many...just get the best ofs

weird al - OWN THEM ALL DAMMIT...poodle hat is the latest tho

grand funk railroad - live 71 is great

nirvana - ...stick with the best of. their singles are the only songs worth hearing

they might be giants - flood

cream - very best of...is good

jethro tull - aqualung and benefit are good

blondie - best of is enough

mary prankster - OWN THEM ALL TOO...but blue skies forever/blue skies over dundalk (same cd pretty much) are the first

barenaked ladies - disc 1 is enough, but theyre all good cds

the cure - MORE OWN ALL...galore is a good compilation tho

Kai and flint,
Do you guys read or post over at the Perpetual Motion (PM:X) board? http://tpom.com/pmboard/index.php
It's a nice place to hear the latest talk about everything progressive-metal.
There's also http://www.ultimatemetal.com/

Here's a few more bands to add to the list:
Time Requiem
Threshold
Opus Atlantica
Empty Tremor
DGM
Everon
Enchant
Masterplan (They've got a song called "Enlighten Me" just to go along with the original subject line :D )
