Then what about this live-action version coming up that I've heard so much about?

Still need one of those, but no urgency.

I wish more hot chicks would dye their hair blue so they could look like Rei.

Reis are all well and good, but if you see a Rei walking around with a Kaoru anytime soon, be advised that she's probably taken.

Oh it had a style all right...cheap. ^_^
There are two kinds of people in this situation.
Stupid people and non stupid people.

Look here, this is not hard to figure out. If it had been done as a stylistic thing, why did they go on to make two "movies" that were more like 2 episodes that spent more than half the time expositioning every episode UP TO the last 2 episodes...hrmmm...come on, do the fucking math fer cripe sake. If it had been a "style" thing, they wouldn't have MADE the 2 "movies" in the first place.

The bottom line is that they simply did not have enough money, were under a deadline, and had to throw something out, period. As far as most sane people are concerned the 2 "movies" ARE the last 2 episodes.

NGE is a lot like the bible, some people are just crazy and insane enough to see all sorts of weird ass shit in it, some people even find "God" in it...but then for those of us who don't have teh crazy...yeah, it's just a collection of really old stories with a lot of morals packed into it. *shrugs* I apologize on behalf of all the sane people who can't find religion in a freakin anime series.

Every possable aspect of the series has been argued to oblivion, you have sufficently beaten, raped, and milked the dead horse. Just let it die.
i once told my mum that good music never died (she was wondering if i liked michael jacksons music). its the same with anime. something like evangelion will never die. people will allways be talking about it. evangelion is the quintessence of mature anime. and just like other great anime's such as akira or lupin 3, it will allways be a part of modern anime, something which will never die and something which chalenges and changes the face of anime.

Wow, some real jerks showed up to this thread.

But most important things must be addressed first

On the issue of Rei & blue hair - I must agree that more girls should dye their hair blue.

On the issue of Evangelion beind dead - sheesh buddy, get over whatever it is that you're stuck on. If we could only talk about it anime that was currently being made, this forum would have like 3 topics. It's completely senseless to declare Evangelion dead and then go 'pissy pissy wah wah' on people who talk about it. Whoever said good anime is like good music is exactly right, and it is the same with all good human art. Also keep in mind that new people are seeing it new every day. I don't give a damn if Evangelion was made by a prehistoric neaderthal caveman, provided that it was exactly the same as it truly is, people would still be seeing it for thr first time and wanting to talk about it. It's really annoying when people dictate what topics can be discussed. Ever hear of not posting on threads you don't like?

Mad Hatter, I don't even know what you are trying to say. It seemed to come out as incoherent sentences in the style of the english language. If you have a problem with something, alright, but you might have made a mistake since the 1 movie (The End of Evangelion) is the "last two episodes" and Death/Rebirth has nothing to do with the actual scheme of the series, since Death is recap and Rebirth is a preview of EoE. Anyone who really looks at it seriously will likely see that the End of Evangelion provided the conclusion to the plot of Evangelion, fullflling things that the plot had been leading up to. However the final two TV episodes provide other important conclusions to the series. As far as I'm concerned Evangelion is not complete without them both, I see no reason to consider otherwise.
