My personal favorite 5 shows are:
1) Vision of Escaflowne
2) Neon Genesis Evangelion (with End of Evangelion Movie)
3) Rurouni Kenshin (only Wandering Samurai and Kyoto Arcs) /w first OVA (Trust and betrayal)
4) Cowboy Bebop /w movie
5) This ones tough...either Berserk, His and Her Circumstance, Ah! My Goddess or Now and Then, Here and There. Depends on what you're in the mood for .

Not a lot of romantic comedies are getting mentioned here.
Ranma 1/2, Love Hina, Golden Boy are very funny and are among my favorites.

Inuyasha is a long series that just gets better over time. Its a good series if your in the mood for a long fantasy series with some interesting story elements.

wow thats a LOT of animes you have all listed; and since i cant get them all for Xmas (why can't i be a millionaire!? ) i decided to compile them into a HUGE collection in a file. this may take about 5 years to get through lol.
