And I finally was able to get a decent encode of the full remake. http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=26375
D/L'd it, LOVE the song - but for some reason I can only play about 20sec. of it & it dies. (This is most likely a problem on my end - I will re-D/L this weekend & try again.) 'Bittersweet' is another one of those songs which is very cool until the singer wrecks it. Then they shut up and it gets cool again. I also enjoyed Gatekeepers. It's always nice to see well-drawn artwork in AMVs. In the vein of 'hey, dude, you have extra colors in your hair" I haven't seen too much music set to 'Betterman.'

About Microsoft's WMV-9 'agreement,' if you look, there's text that says you have to agree to let Microsoft monitor your use of the player AND let them feel free to change stuff in your computer from time to time - My response was "Just say NO," so as of now I cannot play WMV's on my computers. I -have- heard that there is a way to re-encode wmv's into non-proprietary formats (which we can then share much more freely.)

I got 2 videos that uses uncommon music. Or songs never used before from uncommon band/singer.

The first one I would like oped is Shrine of the Goddess 2.

It uses Ah! My Goddess the Movie and Temple of love from Erotic.

Then the second one if you want to take a look at is called Akane's Heart.

It is done to Ranma 1/2 and Not A Fool by Marlo Shay Bouette. The story on how I got here music is in the info section of the page. Here is the link

Well like I said before I really like it if you can review the first one and then if you want to do another one to see how uncommon the music is that's great. Let me know if you want to go 2:2.

Windows Media movies aren't entirely bad, you know. I used it to create my FFX-2 one and I have a 9.0 average opinion on it.
I cannot play WMV's in Linux yet, because MS windows meda player 9 hasn't been hacked to open source yet. There is supposedly a way to open WMVs in a program like the VERY latest Premiere, or Virtual Dub, and then you can recompress it to avi or mpg, but I simply don't have time to do all that, nor the extra bux to upgrade all the time.

So, I -cannot- play wmv's. Sorry.

See above - I use Media Player Classic, ZoomPlayer, and Winamp 5.0 - none of which play WMVs. To get the Windows Media 9 player, you have to agree to grant Microsoft access to your computer to 'peek and play' while you're connected to the Internet. (Read the license carefully.)

Since I do -NOT- agree to let a corporation poke about or register what I like to play, when, how many times, where, and with whom, (Because it's MY privacy and nobody's #$%#!!! business,) I simply decline to get the Windows Media 9 upgrade. So I cannot play WMV's for now.

Maybe later, when someone comes up with a free, legal, open-source kind of crack for WMVs I'll go for it, but in the meantime, AVI's & MPGs.

Thanks.

1) Your AMV isn't DBZ, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Evangelion, Trigun, Lain,
FLCL, or Bebop.

2) The music is instrumental, or if it has words, the singers enunciate
clearly and the lyrics conform to the formal grammar of the language.
(This screens out most grunge, metal, country & [c]rap - UNLESS
it's instrumental.)

OK - if you have an AMV, I'll opp it 1:1 - first 5 - 8 takers.

Well, might Boogiepop Phantom and a not-so-well-known instrumental by Robert Miles grab your fancy?

I don't know of too many AMVs that have Onegai Twins in them either, and Robert Palmer tends to enunciate his words exceedingly clearly...

Interested?

Yes - This is exactly the kind of "vacation" from DBZ, Yu-gi-mon, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Netcrud, and (c)rap music. My next D/L opp. will be around 3-Jan-04.

Regrets. They're WMV instead of the more openly available AVI & MPEG.
they won't play in ZoomPlayer, or Media Player Classic.
