Post by Edo » Sun Aug 25, 2002 7:57 pm

AHHHH I hate this thing!!!! :x

Ok I all io want is to rip my dvd's and send them across the internet to my friends in AVI form.

When I save as AVI in Virtual dub it starts up but then for some reason in the middle of the prosses it frezzes. Either at 8%, 13% or 83% complete!!!

I tyed 2 DVD's to see if that's the problem but it isn't!!!! What's going on? :?

I'm using Divx 3.11alpha codec, and compressing audio from *.wav to a *.mp3

Can somebody help me?

Bah you're still having this problem... :p

Dude, try one of the guides off Doom9.org ;)

You can use _OTHER_ programs...

There is no specific known issue for VirtualDub crashing at random stops while compressing your video. It could be anything, source, video driver, corrupted files, hard drive erros, space martians, conflicts with some other pice of hardware, computer overheating, codec conflicts.....

;)

Unless someone really wants to waste alot of their time, I don't think you'll get much help 'cept to dive in a try another way. I explained the VirtualDub process to you since it is very simple, it is NOT the best way to be doing a DVD rip. There are better programs out there made with DVD ripping in mind...

Heck you could even try that crappy FlaskMPEG(now known as X-MPEG) and see if that works any better.

Just use ErMaC's way, but convert the AVS files into MJPEG AVI with audio. Should be around 250-300MB per ep.
