Video on Video

Post by Link293 » Mon Jan 05, 2004 5:19 pm

This has probibly been asked a million times by n00b's like myself, so if someone could either type it up or send me a link, thatd be much appreciated

Using Adobe Premiere 6.0, just wondering, if its possible, how to play two videos over eachother, like 50% transparent, i know u can do it with images in photoshop so I'm assuming it shouldn't be to much different with Premiere, but it can't figure it out and I've been tutorial hunting for a while. Anyway, any help would be awesome, thanks in advance.

es, it's very possible and easy to do. Look under "Transparencies" in the Index of your Premiere manual. I would give you a page # but I'm at work.

I hear ya man, it took me a while to figure this out myself. Here's how it works:

1. Place one clip in video 1, and one in video 2

2. Hit the triangle at the start of the line for video 2, expanding the line. You should see a red line indicating the rubber band between the two clips.

3. Take and drag the line to the center at the start and finish of where you want the clips overlaid. It'll take some practice, but it's not that hard.

Another alternative is to place the clips where you want them overlaid and then putting a cross fade in there that begins and ends at 50% (although this method is a bit buggy at times when you compile)
