yeah, jeez Rei AYANAMI looks in her 20's!... and has full pouting lips!
...i guess those angels are pretty persistant
but i'm trying to look at this topic in another way now
---SPOILER ALERT----
compared to cowboy bebop...
they made the series, at the end the people split up and spike even dies, not much potential for a movie, so they made the movie like a kick-ass long version of an episode-bounty is set, they go for the bounty and either get the crook or go through some spiritual enlightenment
can't they do the same for eva, they made the series, and the end, there is no more use for the evas, can't they just made the movie a long version of an episode-angel awakens, they assemble and attempt to fight the angel, but the angel is one of the more advanced kind (like the advanced criminal in bebop movie) because it can do the whole psychological scanning process, so they kids fight the angel psychologically and then they defeat it and are better people because of it.... cause it would suck if they just destroyed the angel physically and then rolled end credis..
that right there could be the story line, not set after the series, but in a later part of it where we have a full cast and meaty action packed episodes

I myself would be happy if they did boost the ages of the pilots a little. Like 16~18. I wouldn't be able to stand it if they actually contracted 14 year old kids as pilots. Especially not if they are going to be whiny/apathic/histrionic kids.
In anime you can get away with it, because the age difference is alot harder to notice. I mean, if someone would've told me the pilots were 17, I'd have believed him.

Next they'll have Winston Churchill (ressurected) playing Shinji.

List of most amusing actors to play Shinji:
•William Shatner:
"KHAN!!!........uh, I mean.....FATHER!!!!"
•Clint Eastwood:
"I know what you're thinking. 'Is it inactive, or will it go berserk?' Well, to tell you the truth, I kinda lost track myself in all this excitement. But seeing as this is an Evangelion, the most powerful weapon in the world, and could blow up half of headquarters with it's reserve power, you've gotta ask yourself a question. 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya, father?"
•Roy Schieder:
"We're gonna need a bigger Eva!"
•Richard Dreyfus:
(Molding mashed potatoes into a sculpture of the Geo Front) "What does it mean?!?"
•Sean Connery:
"Allright. You wanna know how to stop the Angels? Well, here's how. He pulls a prog knife, you pull a pallette rifle. He puts Asuka in the hospital, you put him in the Morgue! That's the Tokyo-3 way, and that's how you get the Angels! Now, can you do that? Are you prepared to do that?"
•Arnold Schwarzenegger:
(Aiming pulsitron rifle) "You're fired!"
•Burt Ward (actor who played Robin in the '60s "Batman" movie and tv series)
"Holy Instrumentality, Misato!"
