Which Animes are best?

I'm kinda new into the whole anime thing. I started watching CN one night about a year ago and since have kinda gotten a taste for them. I've seen Lupin, Inuyasha, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Hellsing, Big O, FLCL, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin and I liked all of them. Inuyasha, Bebop, RK and Hellsing were by far my favorites and I was curious about what other animes are out there that are like these and what are some other ones in general that are good.

Based on what you listed, I'd hazard to suggest: Ninja Scroll, Escaflowne, Record of Lodoss Wars, Nightwalker and X/1999.

Ninja Scroll -Action movie with a plot

Escaflowne: Fantasy type, intriguing plot
Record of Lodoss Wars: Also fantasy type
Nightwalker: Vampire detective short series
X/1999: dark action/apocalyptic

On the lighter side of things:
Love Hina: Romantic comedy, very funny with some crazy hijinx

Also Evangeleon, Full Metal Panic, and Vandread are cool if you'd like to venture into mechas. I also like X (go for the series, the movie isn't all that grand

) and Street Fighter.

I also forgot to add in Slayers, Gatekeepers, Initial D (like Fast and the Furius, you'll like this), Fushigi Yugi (only if you're willing for a long drawn out romance), Ayashi No Ceres (pretty good deal of action and romance), and (for comic relief) GTO.

Practically most of what my sister said plus Fruits Basket, Gunslinger Girl, Kanon, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Scryed. I'm starting to like Your Under Arrest as well.

I'm currently working my way through Scrapped Princess, which is definitely quality... Shaman King (on WB on Saturdays) is fun subbed, but I haven't seen the dubs so I can't say anything about them.
