Need help with a premier effect

Post by Wildfire2k2 » Tue Jan 13, 2004 2:50 pm

I'm looking to make an effect much like the one in "Shamess rock video" or the opening to Cowboy Bebop with the split-screen effects. I've found a number of guides on how to make a split screen, but none of which tell how to create a moving line that divided the screen up. Could someone link me to a guide or a plugin that does this? Thank you in advance

Easiest way I can think of to do it is to set up the moving clips so that there's some space in between them, so that the black default background will show through. Alternatively, you could also put a color matte on the bottom video track if you want something other than black.

The way I did the Shameless Rock ones was to make the black lines in a paint/photo program and import them.

This was useful as I was able to make sure all the lines were the thickness I wanted and I could then move the lines around making them appear and dissappear as I wished.

Interesting, but how did you get them to slide across the screen once they've been imported? I always wondered that, and thought it was some secret special technique.

Either way awesome work on that AMV. It's no doubt one of the best out there

In premiere it was simple motion settings... other programs have various ways of moving footage around the screen.
