I might be wrong but this seems just another way of posting your star ratings. What's the point?

What a disgaussting question! The answer should be as clear as a bell! It's all about showing how normal you are!

The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

And then hypothesize on the 'why'. Star ratings are a part of the community - why not wonder how other members use them? After all, we have the 'Average given' and 'average received' on our member profiles. The only way to see the average for the stars is to have threads like this.

Might as well ask what the point of having those 'average given' boxes in our profile is, if we're not meant to share. :?

If the color is the white lines and fuzz blocking out any color (or features) in the footage, then I think a 1 is called for. And if the sound is crackling from the radio so bad you can't hear what the song might possibly be, then again, I think a 1 is called for. And sadly enough, I've watched a lot of vids where I can see and hear more fuzz than I can footage or music - comes from watching a lot of 5mb wmv and rm files.

Maybe you haven't watched enough poorly made videos. o.O
Or maybe I'm just more demanding. ^_^

I have to download a lot of videos that look like they aren't allowed on the donut (porn etc) and as such I automatically give them a 1 if it turns out they have broken the rules.

I've got more 1s than any other score ^_^;;

I have no shame in giving out ones to videos that deserve so.
Face it, some AMVs are to this community what North is to the Cinema world.
