Heh I wish I know the lyrics to laugh a little more in the funny parts of this vid ^^

Great vid :D
I'm glad you liked it. ^_^ And I think I'll go ahead an put the lyrics up on the vid page - though really what makes it funny to me is the characters, after seeing the original movie with this song. ^.~ Evita's a cult classic (lots like it, lots hated it, but it was still big when it came out).

As for the lip sync - I hate doing lip sync...a lot. ;p

Warning: this isn't all positive, but I didn't want to potentially mess up your average and earn everlasting hatred for all eternity. ;)

Strangely, I thought it was well-edited, I really liked the match of anime to song (I've never seen GW, but the visuals really fit), but I just didn't care for it. In parts, especially near the beginning, the cuts seemed too fast - the song never seemed that fast to me, but the cuts are going bangbangbangbangbang like I'd expect from a really upbeat song. They're well-done cuts, but it just throws me off.

There were parts where I did like the editing entirely - for some reason, the first part of the army's narration ("Peron is a fool, breaking every taboo...") was more what I'd expect from a song of this speed. But again, I'm an old fuddy-duddy and tend to go for lightly edited vids. :P

I'm also not fond of that whole "OMG girls are all stupid sluts getting in the way of the troo hott manwuv" bit so common in yaoi fandom, but that's also a matter of personal preference. (and as could be seen from my own profile, I'm in no way anti-yaoi... just anti-misogyny.) At least from the visuals, Relena seemed pretty interesting, not at all a vapid little slut. 'Course, I've never seen the series, as I said, but it was a strange juxtaposition to have a character who looks pretty cool and be expected by the vid to hate her guts.

Now after I've been an evil bitchqueen, some particular things that I liked quite a bit:
- The dance part with Heero and Relena - That just amused me because of the connection to Evita, even though the waltz comes later. Still, I liked that. heh.
- As mentioned, the audio/visual match was very well fit.
- Always had a good idea of who everyone represented in the song's story - which is a big mark in the good column, considering that the song is about half a dozen feuding groups/people, and it would be easy to get lost. But even though I only have a vague outline in my head of who everyone is in the anime, I didn't get lost.
- The lipsync is quite good, as mentioned.
- A lot of the matches to the army's comments about Eva/Relena were fun - like "And she's an actress!", which made me laugh.

So... I hope this doesn't discourage anyone, because this is all personal preference - but I thought that I (as an editor) always like to hear why people don't take to it if that's the case, so I thought it might at least be interesting to hear another side. :/

Sorry, and thanks.

Don't worry about that! ^_^ I promise, when I put this out I knew it was an odd vid. I got the idea back when I hated Relena (after watching the dub - where she's an annoying stalking twit) - but then I watched the Japanese version and she has a lot more character depth. They killed that in the dub. So I knew why people liked her (and why others hated her with a passion) and made the vid anyway. After all, I liked Evita's character - she was a little naive, but she had good intentions, and she survived the only way she could.

My main connection between Evita and Relena is that both got to the top because of the men around them - in Relena's case she actually was blackmailed into being 'queen of the world,' but before then she really was sticking her nose into the government all the time - and the men hated her for it. So...it matches for me. The only difference is that Relena didn't sleep her way to the top. ^_^;; She got there because her father was a King, and her adopted father was Vice Foreign Minister.

But anyway, the vid's a parody - and when I listen to this song I always find the guys more funny than the person they're trying to diss (Evita) - they sound like boys who aren't getting their way and want to cry about it. ;p

The flashing - yeah, I know about that part. But the speed really comes from me. I always thought the song was very jerky and stilted - they 'talked' it more than a flowing sing-song type. And with the 'marching' beats, coming so fast and steady I saw it as something that wouldn't have a smooth flow. The women's sections were smoother, and it does get more fluid toward the middle, but a lot of the sections have very quick rolling drum beats, and I tend to default to drums in the absence of lyrics. One of my quirks. ^_^;;

I definitely see why that would seem odd. No argument here.

This is just a vid I wanted to see done and I figure - those who liked Evita will sympathize with Relena and think the men are pathetic whining babies - and those who hate Relena will get a kick out of seeing her defamed (especially with Treize, of all people ;p ). It works both ways for me. ^_^
So... I hope this doesn't discourage anyone, because this is all personal preference - but I thought that I (as an editor) always like to hear why people don't take to it if that's the case, so I thought it might at least be interesting to hear another side. :/
Don't be afraid to give me blunt criticism. ^_^ Unless it's an outright flame (that I can't learn from), I don't mind.

After all, if I didn't want feedback, I wouldn't have announced it. ^.~

I've actually seen that movie (last year in Spanish class), so it'll be interresting to see how you fit it and GW together.

Great job! I really liked it! Especially all the lipsync. It matched perfectly. Man, that must have taken a long time to edit.

It took a lot longer than it should have since I had a nightmare with the lip sync (I hate lip sync). ^_^;;

But I'm glad you liked it. I thought it was a neat pardoy. ^_^

Hrm, overall, it was pretty good. I do agree that you went a bit overboard with the flashes, plus the way many of them was different colors they seemed inconsistent and they did clash with the scenes

I would say the lipsynching was done fairly well, there are a few spots where it seems a bit off or unnatural, like the dance scene, which didn't really seem like a dance scene at all.

Also, in a few parts the voices seemed to get quieter, where I had to turn my volume up higher so I could make out what they were saying (although thats probablly due to the audio source itself).

Good job Ari, it made for a nice watch.

Very nice lip sync, good flow, and solid concept (coming from someone who hasn't seen the anime). However, I don't think it matches up to your other vids as far as reviewability and overall entertainment value. It is nice to see you do lip sync though, proves there's just about anything you can tackle. :wink: I give it a 2.5 or 3.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

Heh, that's fine with me. I think I and a few others are the only ones who actually liked this vid, blame my penchant for the movie. ;p

Now I just need to raise my effects score...don't see that happening any time soon. ^.~
