The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

I don't really care.

I've been on the good end of other "popularity contests" on another forum. It always pissed me off when people complained about how I got votes just because I was well known. I didn't do anything special but be myself and be an asset to the forum community. Of course I was well known. That's how people knew that I was deserving of certain catagories.

People can't vote for your vid if they don't know it exists.

So what if I'm not in the spotlight for the VCA's. I didn't earn it. I don't really make myself known here. Why should I complain?

Such things shouldn't be trivial enough to take away the fun and friendlyness of the event, or any event. I enjoy competitions, though I don't take them all to seriously, though I do get a slight ego rush when I win :)

People shouldn't get worked up if they lost and thought they deserved to win...hell..you didn't even pay to enter...well..the VCA's anyway. When someone does get in an upstart about losing then they make fools out of themselves and bring down the fun of the contest, even if it is a popularity contest :\

I don't really care for them. The ratings, opinions, etc can also go.

Yes, it would be a library without all those things. I'd prefer that.

However, that would make a lot of good code obsolete -- and a bind() is a terrible thing to waste.

"them" referring to "the VCAs", and "it" referring to the .org, of course.

Go team pronoun abuse. This is why I'm not an English major. :P

I've always rather liked libraries. ^_^

But I'd miss not being able to talk. We'd have to whisper in the new library (emails in this case) because libraries are for silent reading - not chatter among friends. You'd be saying goodbye to the forum as well. It would be a place to get and leave books (amvs) - that is all.

I don't know, I rather like the community part of this place...most of the time... ^_^;;

But ffnet is good as long as you have a link for your favorite editors - you can always browse the shelves if you're looking for something different. And it *is* supposed to be a catelogue...it's an idea. Different could be good.

I just like it well enough as it is, and I rarely like change. ^_^
