Yes, it is quite noticeable that from episode 9 onwards, Asukas breast deflate. maybe it has some deep significant meaning about the traversties of youth, maybe the artist got lazy, or look at a real 14 year old for a change, or maybe i think about this tooo much............ep 9 phsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss ep 26 it all makes sense now i know the meaning of evangelin!!!! >head explodes as no human was ever supposed to understand<

oh ninebirds, come on, the face does look kind a wierd dont it?? come on, you can accept that,

7 years, hell, maybe i could tidy my room OR, instead of moning about eva, the org member copuld make their own live action .hmmm yes, the start of my directing carrier. yes. it could work, come on, we got seven years to beat them, all we have to do is splice some crayon drawings in for the battle scenes and well be made.......................amazing how random thought take hold!

hmm.....i was under the impression that the character pics were just concept art of what actors would look like in the suits......not the real actor pics themselves.

....or am i off base here?!?!

At no point in the anime did the dimensions of Rei and Asuka resemble any possible dimensions of a 14-year-old girl who was not subjected to extensive plastic surgery. I can understand if most posters in this thread would be unaware of this fact, but in real life the vast majority of women who haven't had boob jobs and liposuction do not resemble their anime counterparts when naked.

You're right--Asuka's face does look weird. Her eyes are not the size of saucers and her nose is not ridiculously small. Her face looks (*gasp*) like that of a normal Japanese woman!

I'm still not seeing the "fat" aspect of "Ray". Where is the fat? In her toned arms, legs, and torso? Or are you referring to her deliciously voluptuous and supple booty? Frankly, if they were able to find actresses who could really act and even vaguely approached the idealized nature of this concept art I would be thrilled.

And hopefully the casting people will have enough sense to find someone whose face looks like that of a normal GERMAN woman.

Lair, that isn't true. Ever been to a highschool? There *are* people with very similar dimensions to Rei & Asuka who are similar in age aswell. I'd take some pictures to prove it to you, but that'd be an invasion of prvacy. It truly isn't hard to find 14-15 year olds that look similar to Rei & Asuka, accept for Rei's hair & eye color, and Rei's tallness - I haven't seen anyone with Rei's other attributes *and* her tallness, though I'm sure there's someone out there like that.

Interesting. So, you can find me girls with proportions similar to this, where the girth around the arms is proportionally half the girth of their waists? Now, are these girls anorexic? Or have their rib cages just been removed?

"Kate Rose" is actually a costume designer working on the movie. For all we know, those names are the artists.

Umm... the image didn't work, but yes I can find those people. It's stupid how people automatically assuem skinnyness has something to do with anorexia. First of all, many people are just very physically fit, and second of all, at age 14 the body doesn't generate fat very quickly, so it's far from impossible for someone to become skinny enough for some people to assume anorexia.

It's not the skinniness that I find unrealistic (though I have never seen anyone whose waist diameter was equal to the diameter of his/her arms laid side by side), it is the extreme smallness of the waist combined with the relatively large size of the hips and breasts. Arguing for those real-life proportions is like saying a Barbie doll is realistically proportioned. It's just not naturally possible.
