Good song good movie pretty good editing
bad encode :( I mostly don't care for quality but this hurts my eyes for soem reason.

I don't know what it is maybe its interlaced, wrong aspect ratio?
Dunno I'm not good with the tech things but this needs to be fixed

-Get rid of the interlacing
-Fix the aspect ratio
-Post the lyrics so we know whether or not the video makes sense. I don't think I made out more than ten words of that song.

Its Divx encoded using divx 5.0.

The aspect ratio is 4:3...which is what the dvd was. What the project was set for as well. So I guess its the interlacing thats the problem.

How is it "hurting your eyes"? When I watch it I dont notice anything that causes eye pains or anything. I play it in Windows Media Player. So it may just be your player.

Interlacing. How would you suggest I kill it? I tried the avisynth code to remove interlacing, but it doesnt work with MakeAVIS. Which is what I need to use to bring the video into Vegas. Unless Im just writing the code wrong. Could you post a snippet example of the code so I can compare it to mine? thanky.

I'd like to fix these problems most definitely. So any way you can suggest I do that would be awsome. Thanks.

And here are the lyrics to the song:
-------------------------------------------------
A Perfect Circle
"Weak and Powerless"

Tilling my own grave to keep me level
Jam another dragon down the hole
Digging to the rhythm and the echo of a solitary siren
One that pushes me along and leaves me so

Desperate and Ravenous
I'm so weak and powerless over you

Someone feed the monkey while I dig in search of China
White as Dracula as I approach the bottom

Desperate and Ravenous
I'm so weak and powerless over you

Little angel go away
Come again some other day
Devil has my ear today
I'll never hear a word you say
He promised I would find a little solace
And some piece of mind
Whatever just as long as I don't feel so

Desperate and Ravenous
I'm so weak and powerless over you
Desperate and Ravenous
I'm so weak and powerless
over you
------------------------------------------------------------------

Again. Thanks for the feedback. I wouldnt have noticed the problems without your responses.

Chris

The line is:

Telecide()

If that is causing problems, then you should just deinterlace, chucking either all the top fields or all the bottom fields.

Since the movie is most likely stored anamorphically, consider resizing it to either a 16:9 or 1.85:1 aspect ratio. (I tried 2.35:1 and it made everything too squooshed). That means the best resolutions to use are 512x288, 592x320, and 768x432. You should consider looking at the back of the box; it may tell you what the original aspect ratio was.

Ok. Sorry for not posting recently...my power has been out since Monday due to the ice storm we had in SC.

Yeah Telecide() is causing problems. MakeAVIs wont take the code. Says that line of code doesnt exist or something to that effect. So I need to de-interlace using the software I use for editing? Or something else?

I'll try changing it to 16:9 and re-render it to see what happens. I'll try to post what happens either tonight or tomorrow, since the power is still jumpy.

Thanks a ton.
