so lets say I have this friend with unlimited band at his disposile and he wants to make a live (like mtv? but broadcast on the net) amtv station.

Any clue how he would go about doing it?

Dunno if this goes in help or what .

Are you talking about just an online live streaming video channel that just streams AMVs?

Nullsoft's Streaming Video (NSV) format is pretty nice. http://www.scvi.net/ for more information.

We need stuff like this to take AMVs farther.

The first two things he'd need is a lawyer or three and a chastity belt to protect him from the inevitable legal gangbang.

Oh yeah, and a stream of some sort would be nice, but AtomX already addressed that.

Is it possible to have this stream on Internet TV on Winamp? I just recently discovered that and considered the idea of having an AMV server on there. No clue how to though. ;)

And to get our pants sued off us.

I'm trying to gather all the info now.

I dunno about the getting sued thing,
I'm not to hep on that but.

I'm sure there's a way we could pull it off.

Koji and I where thinking of ways around the whole getting sued thing.

1. What if we where to advertise said anime/music after the amv?

And of course we'd have to get the creators permission.

Does anyone know a lawyer?
It would be nice to know what legal rights on broadcasting on the internet are (as oppossed to just having a download database like this).

Well, maybe I'm missing something, but why is having a server providing an online stream of AMVs any more likely to get sued than a site that provides direct downloads for thousands of said AMVs? o_O
