There's hundreds of songs you are all ignoring! Now then, how to get them. Turn on your radio, flip to every channel on it and when you find a station listen to it for awhile, that should get you a few dozen new options. Find someone with dish network, they've 20 some music stations all playing music other such genre stations don't even bother. They play like 20 some new songs every other month that other stations have yet to play. That's a hundred some songs right there. So, stop playing the top ten songs, find ones that just make good videos one way or another. ^^

Oh yeh, for all those looking for a song or a series, check my link in my signature, lots of options, some might of been taken, research ^^.

Say i'm also looking for kare kano AMVs, gots some good ones? ^^

Look harder if you're missing the original stuff. I've seen plenty of original songs here. In just the last couple months or so I've downloaded AMVs to an Evita song, Loudon Wainright III wishing he were a dyke, an Ice Ice Baby remix, some garage band no one has ever heard of, a mix of Dan Rather, trailers with such an odd anime/movie combo I wonder what drugs were involved in their creation, and that's not even going into the touch of personal pride I have because there still isn't another AMV avalable for download to any of the three songs I've used.

Good creators don't need the top 40 for originality, they've found their own. Now it's up to you to find them...

Theres plenty of original shit out there but it doesnt stay original for very long if people cath wind of its success. Shit, the best you can hope for is an original combination. The reason I dont spew out a fuckload of videos is because I try to make videos whose ideas are a little difficult to mold. And the Eva/Evanescence video I made was the first of its kind as well. So at least I cant be accused of being unoriginal.

Well... sorry, maybe I should rephrase that. Keep away from mainstream commercial radio. I find a lot of stations playing the same stuff over and over; in fact, the same exact stuff that is often overused for AMV's.

Some indie stations can be a bit fresher; I still don't listen to radio, whichever way you cut it.

I'm for originality, but - hey, my suggestion to anyone is, work with what you're comfortable with. Personally, I couldn't see myself working with music I don't personally like. Better to be honest than original.

I really wish for classical. Problem is, I can't super saerch for it, the titles of the songs I want are hard to remember.

if you're having trouble remembering the song titles, you can search classical songs by artist. though there still aren't too many classical videos.

I can't understand for the life of me why there arn't more classical music videos. Maybe it's because not too many people like anime one the dramatic side that lacks alot of hardcore action. Maybe it's me, i dunno.
But yeah, classical anime vids would be a pleasant change of pace. ^_^

I suppose it's also fair to point out the difference between "classical" and "symphonic" (orchestral). The "Lord of the Rings" soundtrack would be symphonic, but not classical. If you just want symphony music, there should be many AMVs to choose from.

Not only are there very few good songs used there is very little variants in the animes used. There are like a billion bad inuyasha AMVs and like two good ones. It kinda turned me off of the whole watching AMVs for a while. I only watch AMVs that come highly recomended or from people I know. All the songs these days are Linkin Park too. Why not have some ZZ top or Pink Floyde??

I've found at least two listings for classical music (though they weren't downloadable).

The first that I found was an AMV listed for Mars, the Bringer of War (from "The Planets" Suite, by Gustav Holst) using footage from The Vision of Escaflowne. Here is the link: <A HREF="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... ">Dilandau - The Bringer of War</A>.

The second that I found was an AMV listed for "The Hall of the Mountain King" (from "Peer Gynt", Suite I, by Edvard Grieg) using footage from Final Fantasy 6-9. Looking under "Hall of the Mountain King", I found eight entries, four of which are listed as downloadable (two local, two indirect links).

I remember DokiDoki doing an AMV to the "Ode to Joy" from the fourth movement of Beethoven's 9th symphony using footage from several different anime (as he is want to do). Here is the link for that: <A HREF="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 4">KDMD</A>.

I also found an AMV with Beethoven's 5th symphony (haven't watched it yet, but I expect it's using part of the all too popular first movement) using footage from The Animatrix (judging from the title, the first entry in The Animatrix). I then found an entry for Bach's famous Toccata and Fugue in D Minor using footage from Rurouni Kenshin. The creator appears not to have finished it yet, though. I found another one (where they misspelled it as "tocatta") using footage from Revolutionary Girl Utena: The Movie that isn't downloadable yet either. (Whether it's finished or not is ambiguous from what the comments say.)

I found nine entries using either an original or techno remix of Beethoven's Bagatelle in A Minor (more commonly known as "Fuer Elise"). Two of them are downloadable locally (the others aren't downloadable).

While most people consider Joplin the "King of Ragtime", he was actually a classical composer. You can find two entries using "The Entertainer" (one of which is locally available, the other includes a nocturne for violin and piano by Chopin), plus another using "The Maple Leaf Rag".

I found another entry using Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14 in C# Minor ("Sonata Quasi una Fantasia", nicknamed "Moonlight") using footage from "Please Save My Earth". Here is the link: <A HREF="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... >Moonlight Sonata</A>.

If you look under Beethoven as the musical artist, you should find 21 entries (including those listed above).

I also found two entries using Bach's Air, neither of which are downloadable. There's also an entry for Bach's "Jesu Menine Freude" (not recalling it offhand, I expect it to be an organ piece). I also found a piece by Maurice Ravel, but the video was not downloadable.

The only hit I got for Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov has already been mentioned in this thread. Another Russian composer, Modest Mussorgsky, got a hit with his piece, "Night on Bald Mountain" (which was featured in Disney's "Fantasia 2000"), using footage from DiGi Charat. I got six hits from Tchaikovsky, four of which were from "The Nutcracker", with the other two from "Swan Lake". Two of the "Nutcracker" entries are downloadable and one of the "Swan Lake" entries is downloadable.

I found one hit for composer Camille Saint-Saens, with his "Danse Macabre", though the footage is unlisted and there is no download available.

I know that I didn't look up all of the available composers. Here is an idea that you can try, though. You may not be able to remember some of the titles of the pieces that you like, nor might you remember how to spell their names (I often try to spell Copland, an American composer, with an 'e'). However, try visiting <A HREF="http://www.allclassical.org/">www.allclassical.org</A> and looking around. One place you should check out is the playlist. They frequently play pretty well-known music by renowned composers, so try entering in some of the composers' names in the Org Search and see what comes up.
