Ok... ok
So maybe I should try things out a little more before rushing off to stick foot in mouth! lol... I downloaded trial of Music Maker and downloaded Cam Studio (I really do have to find the *cough* •racks *cough* for those... their pretty coo) And I am getting the EXACT effect that I want! this is so coo... I just have to work on quality.... For some reason the footage that is recorded is sluggish! Lag!

Hey... I was just wondering... How do I make it were the framerates match up correctly so that the capture runs smoothly? I have been playing around with the cam Studio video options for a few hours now... But any time I try to capture a Magix video filter (spectrum analyzer; the bars) the capture lags a lot getting choppy or goes twice the speed and skips alot of frames!
There are three boxes that need to be filled in correctly and I just can't get the balance and compensation down:
Compression:
(I am using a Divx codec)
Quality: 1-100
Set key frames ever ___ frames
Framerates:
Capture Frames every ___ Milliseconds
Playback Rate ___ frames/second
Anyone know about the blanks??
I done variables up the wazoo... still it's choppy and doesn't end up matching to the music!
(BTW Auto Adjust isn't any better)

It's a lot better but still lag..
It just popped into my head... I don't know if it matters... but
Does is 24, 42, 24 effected when the fixed region size is 480X240 (I am trying to capture for a widescreen video) and the song legnth.. does that effect the peramiters? is all of this "framerate and capture frame per millisonds" explained in Class room in a book? cause they go into it minutely in premiere bible! if not... where can I learn?

You said you wanted a starting point. CIAB is as good of one as any. Plus it's relatively cheap.
Basically it is a book of tutorials that will take you though MOST of the functions that you will encounter, as well as many that you might not, like blue screen, and rotoscoping. I usually reccomend it for new-ish users because it includes everything you'll need, and has a nice logical progression of skills involved. If you are an advanced, or ACE premiere user then you will have probably used most of what's in here.
Here is a table of contents:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... i=contents
Also if you go to: http://www.adobe.com/products/tips/premiere.html This page you will find some nice tutorials.
You could even: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=U ... +tutorials
