Integra from Hellsing

Integra looks like a traitor, based on all the evidence officially available to the public. The reasons she isn't, are secrets. What to do? Well, England has a tradition going back hundreds of years of "jailing" aristocrats in only a token way, if it's necessary to do so for political reasons. The Queen needs Integra to be in jail for a while in order to satisfy protocol. That need not indicate any real disapproval. Eventually the time will come when the Queen can find an excuse she can admit to in public, to grant a pardon; in the mean time, I'm sure Integra's stay will be as pleasant as they can make it.

I wouldn't know since I'm a arrogant and close-minded American....maybe someone from england such as )v(ajin Koji or someone who knows bout England could answer that.pyro_256 wrote:why is it that people keep on saying that the queen's in charge? i always thought england was a democracy.
I've always admired Integra Hellsing. Not like some of the idiots who think's shes hot (she's a drawing !!! ). I just love her character and they way she acts and the whole thing between Alucard and Integra is just amazing

Even though Integra is Innocent, she and her organization are treated as criminal's to keep the general public unaware of what just occured at the Queens Palace. So, whatever happened there they could just blow off as "The Hellsing forces invaded the queen's palace, unleashed some weird high tech device that cut london tower in half, but were ultimatly driven back by UK forces with minimal losses"
Basically, a good case of the 'Deny Everything' effect and redirecting of blame to Hellsing.

Are you kidding me?!
Not only is she NOT hot, but myself and a lot of my friends initially thought she was a guy. I know we're not alone on this.

The thing about hellsing, is that even Sereis Victoria looks like a guy (broad shoulders, well built etc)
Anyhow, yes, england is ruled by parliment, however, the monarchy does still have a say in what happens to the country, and are still highly regarded by the older generation (ww2 generation)..
As to why Integra is jailed?? There are still probrably members of the round table after her, so if it looks like shes locked up, or executed, she should be safe, also, aqlucard can pretty much go wherever he damnwell please, so whether he was allowed to meat integra or not is not know. i guess we can find out the real answers when the manga is finished being released......

Kearlywi explained it very well already.
another thing is that there is a "judas" in the round table that set the Helsing foundation up by orchestrating the whole fiasco with the possible assistance of the Vatican.
So, being the only living Helsing and the head of the organisation (in part), she would be the obvious choice to arrest.
I knew she was a woman from the begining, but she really was attractive in episode 8 and her obvious power is respectable, if abit scary, since she could easily be a megalomaniac. {she needs some TLC!!}
The royal family have no absolute control over government, the Queen only has some Conventional roles on "advice" of the Prime minister. To put it simply, she is a figurehead with abit of clout and the royal family are really only here cos' of tradition. It is a democracy!
---btw i'm not anti-monarchy
p.s. Alucard wasnt 'let in', he appeared in the jail room.

Personally our royal family cause us no harm, they even pay taxes (the queen at least) and theyve given up alot of their frivilous privilages.
I can understand where other monarchys use their clout irresponsibly and run their nation into the ground, but our royal family only really hurt themslves, what with all thier public embarassments. Their just like any disfunctional family, but we love them all the same.
