I believe the phrase 'That's nice, I like it' sums up the entirety of any complaint, support, or constructive critism my wife has given me. Well, that and 'Can I check my email? You've had the comptuer the whole day!'

I try to remain as secretive as possible but people always have ways of finding out.

My mom found out I did amvs when I accidently left the paper that came with my Sakura con 2002 prizes that said "Congrats, you won the Sakura con 2002 amv contest other category" on my desk and she read it when I was away. When I tried to explain the concept of amvs to her, she was like... "ummmm ok".

My parent think I should get into editing videos professionally but I don't want to. Then again, my parents have tried for years to pry me away from the computer until they found out I did amvs and have even supplied me with upgrades to my computer a few times

I tend not to tell anyone that I do amvs because I'm afraid I won't be able to explain the concept of it to them in an easy way. One of my friends wouldn't stop bugging me to make him an amv of popular anime-popular song and I still won't do it

My mom is really positive about making AMVs. She thinks it's a very creative thing, she enjoys that I have such a passion for this videos and she's enjoing my work, too. She also thinks it's really cool that I get to know various people around the world through my hobby

My dad doesn't really care, but he strives at being interested

My brothers think my AMVs suck.

My friends really seem to love my work

They have no idea.

Maybe my dad is the only one who would appreciate it because he's been encouraging me to create things on the computer...graphics...movies...assorted stuff (I know I'm just an amatuer but it's something he or anyone else in my family doesn't know how to do).

But I'm not interested in my mom or my younger sister knowing. In love them and all but neither of them are interested in anime and they already think I'm enough of a nerd. They'll feel I should make better use of my time.

My family doesn't get into it much, but my friend enjoys them. She doesn't usually watch anime, but she'll watch some AMVs because she's really into music videos. And of course, most of my other friends (that watch anime to begin with) like AMVs.

I think my family and friends like it. My friends keep saying i'm a good amv creator (and i say no i'm not). some of them got into amvs cuase me and some them wish they had my "skills". my mom probably wouldn't enjoy them like a lot of us would, but she regonizes the work and effort put in them. after i won an award, my bro and mom keep telling other family members and friends -_- i don't like too much attention so it gets annoying. I havn't even told them my video is nomitated in the VCAs >.> maybe i'll tell them after it's over. but overall i think she suports my decision to do this, she did send help me goto AX03 to be there for the contest

In the family...my brother always bothers me about it. "Do a "In Da Club" video! Do a "In Da Club" video!" Fuck! My mother's very excited and supportive about it. I once watched Hellsing with her. The first ep. lmao
Think about the reaction in a first scene with a vampire hooker. lol
My dad liked the original DB while it was airing and was very fond of teh little Goku

. As for AMV's he doesn't have any problems. I showed him some videos and he really liked "Tainted Doughnuts". As for friends...my closest neighbours want to make a short film about them doing silly things and I edit that with appropriate song. lol Would be interesting. One dude from my high-school got so hooked up when he saw a CD of AMV's I presented on a video-bim that he begged me to teach him how to do it. So I made a fair offer: My Adobe Premiere 6.5 for his 3D Studio Max5. That is the best scam I did so far. Not only is 3DSMAX more expensive, it's also more complex and can even be used in producing some inovative effects and later using them with Premiere. Neat trade.

My family is a critical factor in my editing. I could easily put a special thanks at the end of my videos to all my family members and have it be legitimate. This mostly applies to Wonka but everyone takes part and contributes.

When I'm editing, thats all I'm doing with my life at the time. Given, I have the luxury of doing this by going to a 4 hour school, but thats the reality. All I talk about is the video, I dream ideas about the video, I listen to the entire discography of the artist featured in the video, and everything else relating too the video.

I bounce ideas off of everyone, I make everyone watch demos, I talk about continuity, pacing, scenes, deep meaning, and the like. My room is the centerpeice of the house I live in so everyone gets to see what I'm doing at one point or another. They all enjoy it, especially my mother. Our mom is out biggest fan, but thats just because she's a mom :p.

Wonka and I edit about 3 feet apart form eachother as our computers are in the same room. When we edit, were usually editing together as when one person is creatively jiving, it usually filters on over to the other person and vice versa. We bounce ll ideas off eachother in a more detailed way than the rest of our family because we are actually editors as apposed to fans, however educated and savy those fans may be.

I can't understand how people could have parents who are dismissive let alone openly hostile about making music videos. Thats simply beyond my imagination. But then again, from the impression of this thread, I am in the minority to have a supportive and loving family.
