how much did you cry ?

Post by bum » Sat Feb 14, 2004 12:32 pm

ive cried in movies. almost everyone has. thoughs tears are usualy small, soft tears that slowly trinkle down your cheek as the movies final scene playes to harmonic music. i saw grave of the fireflies today, actualy i saw it about half an hour ago, i started watching it at around 2:20am. by the time the credits started to roll my eyes we're thick, heavy. i cried through the whole of the credits, both japanese and english. but not small, slow tears. thiey we're slow, but heavy, large tears that smothered my face. and i just sat their, crying, staring at the screne as the credits rolled, a blur as the droplets of water distorted my vision. then the title screne came up. just sat thier, crying, holding myself tightly as it played over and over. this was, i had, never cried like this from any movie or game (metal gear solid gave me a few good tears). i dont know, i probaly will never again. it was just so, just so sad like you had bein their, seen and experienced it all. actualy, through the feelings, the emotion, you probaly did. this is without a doubt the sadest, most painful, yet beautiful thing to ever be seen on a screne. if you dont cry then you probaly dont have a heart. so, how much did you cry for the grave of the fireflies ?

I 'cried' at the Green Mile.

Wasn't really crying though. More like repeatedly blinking with watery eyes.

You watched Grave of the Fireflies at NIGHT? I bet you had a very hard time sleeping. I couldn't even sleep after watching that movie at the Anime Club 2 days ago. It was seriously depressing.

Other anime series that almost made me cry is Kanon and Shingetsutan Tsukihime. Also episode 19 of RahXephon made me cry a little bit.

Honestly, Grave of the Fireflies didn't make me cry, I didn't even feel like it. It was one of those movies that are just TOO depressing, it felt like I was supposed to be shedding tears all the time. :?

Anyway, there are a few animes that have made me cry. Millennium Actress and Lain come to mind. Oh yes, and Noir, even the 7th time I watched it. (I know, I'm an obsessed Kirika fanboy. )

GOTFF nearly broke me, but I have to say that of all the movies that got to me, it ranks a close second to Lorenzo's Oil.

strangely enough, eva made me cry like, the 6th time that i watched it. that scene at the end of final genesis where everyone claps and sais "congratulations" to shinji, that moment was so beautiful. also i shed a tear or 3 in end of eva when asuka realises the true meaning of the at field and "finds her mother". beautiful stuff. bot nothing has made me cry as much as grave of the fireflies, nothing will ever get close. i literaly spent about 10 minutes just siting in a chair and crying the life out of myself

I didn't cry during grave of the fireflys. I watched the movie expecting to cry... but the tears never came. I was rather choked up for a while afterwards though.
I get teary-eyed watching stuff sometimes... but the ONLY thing that has ever made me flat-out cry was full moon wo sagashite.

I had to fight back tears many, many times at Fruits Basket. Which is ironic--the show is generally incredibly happy.

Oh, and Shaman King too--there's a part where you know it'll all work out but you have a hard time imagining how it will...
