Just a minor point:
One of the people doing the comentary is my friend Taliesin Jaffe.
He is the guy who knows more about the Khaballa than perhaps everyone in this forum put together (and then some)
While I was able to follow EVA using my on knowledge of Psychology, Philosophy and Film Theory... he was the one who explained a lot of the religious significance in the show. While I knew a smattering of the Khaballa... I was stunned at how much detail and work goes throughout the entire tv show (and the movie)

There are two kinds of people in this world:
Those who divide people into two kinds of groups
and those who don't.

This may just prove my ignorance, but what do you mean "Khaballa"?UncleMilo wrote:He is the guy who knows more about the Khaballa than perhaps everyone in this forum put together (and then some)
I know what you mean. When I used to watch shows or stuff like that, I thought I was able to find all these mistakes. But now I realize that a lot of the mistakes or "coincidences" that I thought of, are all already known and are even sometimes put there on purpose. Either that or I didn't pay complete attention, so I misunderstood something.UncleMilo wrote:While I knew a smattering of the Khaballa... This topic is about EoE, right? There's no title topic on the page! Oh well, I'll assume this since we're all talking about Evangelion. It gets confusing when you're reading about several different Eva threads. You tend to forget which ones which. Where was I... oh ya, I'm still waiting to buy EoE. I can barely wait. Wish it was coming out earlier though, my birthday is coming up in a couple of days.

I've always thought the big 'Fuck You!' theory was right, becuase from everything I've heard about it, it seems that EoE was a cave-in to all the fans of the series who thought that all the religious references and psychology were the most important things about the series. Yes, they were important, but the series was about Shinji, IMO, and trying to push all the symbolism to the forefront of the story and making everything all depressing and mindfugging messed up what Eva was intended to be about: Shinji's journey to coping with himself and the world around him.Chaos Angel wrote:I like the series ending better as well. While I do not have any evidence to back it up, I sometimes find myself thinking that the theory about EoE stating that Anno made it as a big "FUCK YOU!!" to everyone that didn't understand the series ending sounds about right.
Chaos Angel-I do like your idea about EoE being what's going on in the physical world, while eps. 25-26 are what's going on in Shinji's mind. It's a way of looking at it that doesn't snub anyone who likes one ending over the other.
Everyone is not the same as you.
Get over it.
And lighten up.

I finally found his name. They don't say it very often in the movie. And don't ask why I didn't just check the internet. I'm pretty sure his name is Makoto Hyuuga. He's the guy with glasses, right? He's the guy who says "Damn! Haven't they ever heard of moderation.", when the special forces use an N2 mine.kiddingchris wrote:all original? (yeah...i guess...) in that case, they did a really good job considering they did the entire cast (if they did that is) but i still dont know bout misato and that other guy (can someone tell me what his name is again? {short spikey hair, one of the three main people at the front of terminal dogma [maya etc]}
