Yu-Gi-Oh! question
Very few people know it, but there were really two different series of Yu-Gi-Oh! in Japan. The first one was loyal to the mangas while the second was made for younger eyes to see. Does anyone know where I can buy or find more info on the first series? My sisters and I would really appreciate it.

Mmmm? Are you refering to the fact that the first series wasn't really shown over here, and they just appealed to the oh-lookie-we-can-market-cards-and-suck-up-all-your-money type season? Since cards didn't really appear in until about the second season if I recall correctly.
Meh...haven't seen it...only mooched the manga off my friend....oh well...

You ever read the manga? It's actually not half bad, I was skeptical at first, but it's not too bad.Yukina_Raven wrote:I am ashamed to admit I liked Yu-Gi-Oh! once. I've thumbed through bits of the manga, yes. Seems a hell of a lot different than the TV show. Less kiddie and more funny.Moonlight Soldier wrote:You ever read the manga? Explanation session
Ahem ... time for some explaining on the 'secret series' I was talking about.
1) It's more like a seperate anime than a saga in th series. The first saga of the series IS about saving Sugoroku Mutou (but in USA his name is too hard to pronounce, so we simply call him Granpa).
2) The animation of this other series is not very good. But, it was seen as too graphic for the yunguns in Japan.
3) Yes, it is true that the one we see is cut, but if all you have seen of the series is the American cut and dubbed version, then you simply seeing the skin and bones of the cattle (yup, it was cut all to hell that much). I will not go off into a rant on this as you probably don't want to read ALL of it, I would spoil most of the series (I've seen almost all of the episodes released in Japan), and I'm not entirely sure how to use the spoiler system.
