good question

For me, I'd like more of it to be anime. I like to watch just about any anime show when I can, and enjoy the little bit of exposer that hits me in this backwoods state(West Virginia). When I get a chance to buy something, it's either a new game or, my recently starting trend, a new anime DVD. I hope when I get to college, I'll get to be more involved here and with anime in general.

I'de most of my life is anime sadly enough. But when not doing anime related things I'm watching something non-anime or chatting on forums like this.

Well, that's not too bad, as long as you're not obsessed w/ it or something! Weird fans make me afraid to become one....
What exactly makes a fan weird and why would you be or not be afraid to become one? (Sounds like an english question doesn't it?) I mean is a weird fan someone who cosplays....like twice a month, twice a week? A person who watches say 5 hours of anime a week, 3 hours a day? Where is that fine line?

Good question ... :? ...

Im my opinion, i think those wierd fans would have to be sooo obsessed

with anime to a point where their car has anime characters hanging from

their rear view mirror ... ... now thats scary ...

I don't really watch anime (or AMVs) all that often, I usually don't have the time, too much other stuff.

I'm glad it hasn't come to that for me...
Heck, I don't see what the problem is with being known as a fan of anime. I'd just be worried about anyone who literally does nothing but anime related junk, especially if "anime related" doesn't even imply anything creative (drawing in manga style, creating AMVs). If all you're doing is watching anime or daydreaming about it, then there are serious issues.

I have put over $4000 into anime, I have 100+ AMV ( I lost count ) and I spend most of my free time on anime.

Everyone here thinks thats bad, why? I'm happy.

If your truly happy with what you're doing that's great, I'm just saying that I couldn't really enjoy being a fanatic b/c of the social backlash it would bring. I guess I have this overwhelming need for acceptance that come with my adolescent angst...go figure. :?
You're lucky... I've decided to let you live to see the day when I will rule the world.

As much fun as anime is (I think everyone here'd agree on that)--it's not so much even that social lives are important. I mean, they are, but only in that you need to know how to interact with other people. As long as you can do that, it's not terrible. No worse than people who, say, live on FFXI or EverCrack all the time, at least.

I don't watch much anime or even buy products related to it anymore. Now I'm slowly building up my "real movie" collection.

Video games on the other hand...
