So, it's not part of a dastardly plan to delay the 10K crossing to the date of your choosing?AbsoluteDestiny wrote:Oh yeah - I forgot to mention... we're gong through the backlog of deletion requests now that the donut is over.
That might make things kinda interesting
Isn't there a (probably small) chance that we could clock over 10K twice if you are deleting etc? Any way to avoid this?

With 600+ entries to remove and at this point nearly 140 videos until the rollover point, it's pretty unlikely that the cleanup will result in a double-tap. The pruning will likely finish sometime in the next 48 hours (since it's already the weekend where AD's at), and the server might take another two days after that to cross 10000 based on current rates. Not a problem.
Still, a nice way of adding an uncertainty factor in what looked like some straight math...helps keep the players interested.

Hmm... seems the server didn't crash like it was supposed to. AD, how about you just wipe the entire database clean? There's a reward for you if you do... I could add to your basement collection. How's Milberry or Maboroshi sound? Or if you're looking for someone more current, I could always arrange for Mr. Stair...

Hey,
I updated the count statistic so that it matched the one used in searches, like the Super Search. Admins have the ability to mark a video as "uncool" if it violates the upload policy. The video file is not actually removed from the server but merely marked as "unavailable". The file then stays on the server as "evidence" in case of dispute. The counter now discounts the "uncool" videos that shouldn't have been uploaded to the server in the first place.
I hope this helps. Good luck and have fun!! ^_^
