If you want some drama, check out Confidential Confessions...it's VERY DRAMATIC...basically the manga is a collection of short stories....though be warned it's kind of depressing

has anyone heard of the series called matantei loki ragnarok also called demon detective loki ragnarok? it hasnt been translated into english so i might of answered my own question lol but its also an anime series.
i was jus curious coz i stumble on alot of manga that seem to be hidden lol
the manga that i thought were cool are vision of escaflowne, fruits basket, ah!my goddess and DEMON DIARY !! wicked cool manga

I've heard about it, I think Tokyopop is releasing it...maybe, or it could be a different Ragnarok...but it looks cool, I want to see it should it ever become licensed.

I didn't think that Lain was actually from Gainax, is it?

To elaborate on Berserk a bit more - it really doesn't have any comic relief. There are some funny part but mostly it's a very serious show. It's got a fair amount of sword fighting in it

but I think it'd fit your purposes.

if you want drama, then anime is filled with it. if you want something to make you cry your heart out, then try Ayashi-no-Cerese. i saw this wonderful anime and couldnt help get misty-eyed.
