I am in need of education.

Post by flamemaster » Wed Mar 10, 2004 2:59 pm

Ok I need someone to give me the low down on some of the more popular anime shows. I only know about DBZ and I need to broaden my horizons.

Anything info is welcome.

Excel Saga
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Trigun
Hellsing
Inuyasha
RahXephon
Akira
Escaflowne (series and Movie)
Gundam (Wing and all the others that I haven't seen)
Fooly Cooly/FLCL or whatever you want to call it

Eh, there's lots more but this is a good place to start.

I'm sure there's gonna be lots of "Hey! You forgot <Insert Anime I've Never Heard Of Here>" if you have to then do it with a nice explaination of that anime.
I'm bored and you're dumb. A match made in heaven.

/adds to Koji's list

X/1999 - cool gothic type anime
Record of Lodoss Wars *OVA and series* Interesting medieval type anime. The series is funny whereas the ova's are more serious.

/end listing.

As a relative newbie to anime myself (at least someone who still feels like one), I doubt that throwing a thousand names at this poor soul will help much.

What kind of stuff are you into, first of all? Action? Sci Fi? Adventure? Taught political drama? Cooking shows? (hey, you never know)

::slaps Koji's head again::

I don't know why I did that.....

I also suggest Samurai X: Trust and Betryal too.

Modifiying the list again...adding:

Berserk - (It's like Lodoss...only on steroids (...OK, maybe not exactly...))
Lupin III - (Fun show/movies, and also seems to be one of the sources of inspiration for Bebop)
