do you mean her Rage Against
video? it's good, but i wouldn't say it's the best

i might have to go with Brayko's Visions-Dragonball Anthology video is probably the best
(i didn't link to it cause there is no download available) :?

considering what dbz and dbz amvs consists of, Visions pretty much captures everything nice and neat, it makes sure to include fighting which is very dominant in db and dbz (more in dbz) which is a selling point for a lot of dbz amvs (but don't forget some of the best dbz videos have minimal fighting in them... just something to ponder)
it also includes plenty of conflict and makes sure to resolve those conflicts by showing/spoiling the finisher of the villin in the actual video, plus it's great video and audio quality and it's synced very well to the song beats and mood changes

and what's even cooler is that the video actually has a concept! :D in case no one noticed (pft... who my kidding, it's pretty obvious) it's called Visions because the video actually is centered around Bardock, Goku/Kakarot's dad who is cursed with the power to foresee his own demise and that of his people (saiyans... duh) though i guess cause he's a different race then the people who naturally had the power, he also obtained the power to see the future of his son Goku/Kakarot and Brayko takes this ability one step foward and actually has Bardock see the entire dbz series

... actually at the point that Bardock had the vision, i think Frieza was the end of the series, but then it was extended, i'm not sure though, but now i guess with Brayko's video, Bardock once again sees the entire vision of db/dbz
[/brown-nosing]

Nah, I think he might mean one of her thousand other flashy DBZ vids. :P Just kidding, Ari. ^_~ Maybe this one. That's my favorite one of her flashy DBZ ones.

what do you think?

Post by Jussumguy2 » Mon Mar 15, 2004 10:54 am

Hey, what do you guys think of this?
I wasn't sure what Dragon Ball Z Fans would think of a music video sort of like this...I dont' remember seeing many videos where in the video, it tells the story like it is in the series...usually its just a jumble of images in no particular order.

...i suppose ur defending dbz, but it's kinda hard to tell... ur being so open-minded towards it's videos :?

okay, so maybe there's some truth to it, but let's just make it clear that ur exagerating, hopefully no video is just literally random images, they usually at least follow a weak rhythm, but there are some videos that follow a story line in dbz, but i'll agree that they are rare, it's much simplier to focus a video on a particular fight (hopefully a fight that has a purpose.. not like goku vs ginyu force or sumtin)

i think we should suggest a new catagory for AMVs, 'Fight' videos, there are already plenty of videos that focus on just that, some of the best dbz videos focus on the hardships on a certain fight, for example:
The Perfect Game<--Goku vs Cell
Liberation<--Goku/Vegeta vs Kid Buu
Kid Buu<--same as above... wit rap song :P sweeet

as for ur video, not bad, good quality (though cartoon network played a key role) and solid editing, but ur video didn't tell the whole story, you left out an entire transformation, and u didn't give the reasons why Frieza went through the transformations, he wasn't doing it because he was showing off, it was because his forms were being bested by the good guys, so i'd give ur video anywhere from a 3 to a 4 if i could star rate it

This is another Frieza tribute, goes through all of Frieza in the past, on namek, on earth, and even in movie 12 (rebirth of fusion/janemba) though the profile says movie 13 (exploding dragonfist), it's just wrong, yes i've seen them, so i know
ur video's better quality though, but this other one ain't bad

New one

Post by Jussumguy2 » Wed Mar 17, 2004 10:28 am

Hey...
This is the third part..my favorite one..
check it out, It's long but I don't think that it moves slow...I think it turned out pretty well when speaking of portraying how the fight went...
Please leave your opinion though...I want to know what other people think...I still haven't gotten around to OP the last one you posted but I will surely get to it soon, I'm at work now so I can't turn the volume up to listen to the audio.

hey, now that wasn't bad, at first i'm thinking... possibly too much actual audio from the show to really be considered an AMV... seemed more like background music that went with the show, and there's a big difference between an AMV and background music, but i think you did a good job. the music picked up very nicely with the action, if there was no audio from the show present, i think the video would be almost just as good, but it's kule and kinda original to have the anime's audio present to kind of give commentary on some parts
Much better than ur Frieza Introduction, this one followed the flow of events a lot better... remember though, this followed the flow of events of that battle, not of the story-line, i just want to make sure you know the difference

but i need something cleared up

what do you mean by 'best dbz anime vid'?... are you asking if this seems like the best dbz AMV ever done? or do you mean from the ones that you personally have done?

i think if your video didn't have the real audio in it, i'd turn out something like THIS VIDEO
tihs one is also very long, but it's real media, so the file size is MUCH smaller than urs, and it has a more desperate tone to it in the beginning, whereas urs started off very aggresive and ended aggresive
so overall, the video i linked to is very varied in it's emotions, starts off desperate, becomes intense, gets tiresome after a while, but ends triumphant without a shadow of a doubt.. also didn't have spoilers
and urs is very aggresive throughout the video, but makes sure to include climax points where something happens that isn't between Goku and Frieza

so both videos are good in their own sense, i just thought you'd like to see a video that is like urs, seeing people think alike is always amusing to me
:D

Yea,
that was pretty nicely done...I can't say that I thought the music was the right choice but it was good none the less..Thanks for posting it...It's going to be hard for me to find videos that are done like that dealing with Dragon Ball Z...there are so many out there. I'd like to know what this MajinPlanet guy would think of my video..maybe i'll personal message him.

Yea, you are right to keep pointing out...
remember though, this followed the flow of events of that battle, not of the story-line, i just want to make sure you know the difference
I just wanted to bring that up for discussion because of what mostly I see on this site...the order of events shown come in second to how the movement of the characters go with the music. I agree that these three of my videos are just following the events of each battle but I actually don't think it could be done to follow a story since with DBZ...it's Battle..then a little story, BATTLE. But I tried to show the emotional effects throughout each part of the battle like when Goku's friends got killed, his anger is fueled enormously.

I am very embarrased about the file size on my videos...I guess I just figure that most people have fast connections so I don't want to sacrifice quality...but I guess that's just a lame excuse...that .rm file did a pretty fine job. I'll start fooling around with more codecs.

Thanks Daio Kaji for your continuing follow ups. Let me know if you come across any other DBZ videos or other videos that have an epic feel or that you think follow my line of tastes.

Oh yea...and the thing about mine being the best DBZ video ever made..Thought it might stir things up (get people to watch the video) - although, just from personal taste, I like how mine flows a lot better than the crystal method one does. I feel like mine has a lot more variety...but anyway..I still am way behind in watching amv's on this site..getting caught up right now. And I've already rambled on for far too long.
