and that’s part of the reason why I want to watch this anime. I've heard that the story is unbeatable in term of philosophical, emotional, and character growth aspects. If this thing is as hardcore to the mind as people are saying I can’t wait.

Thats probably right. But only in the last two episodes and EoE, the rest of the series is fairly simplistic and slow paced. This is probably what makes the last two episodes such a shock because so much shit got crammed into them they could have made another 5 episodes out of it. I thought Eva was a bit of a let down, and personally I liked RahXephon better even though anyone you ask will start whinning about how its an "eva ripoff"

I think it's really hard to predict whether you'll like Eva or not. It's an ambiguous show. I suggest you try to listen to what others say about it as little as possible, and just go see it and figure out for yourself whether you really like it or not. There's really no single 'right' way of looking at Eva....
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Huh? I personally thought there was a good deal of philosophy/psychology, emotion, and character development (as well as plot twists) all through the second half...

I mean, all that stuff is not completely absent in the first half, but the action and comedy seem to dominate. Kinda like Trigun.

I agree ... its best to just watch the anime series yourself and judge

for yourself since different people have different opinion about different

anime series. So you should be the judge and see if it was mind

stimulation or wat not. And if you like it, then YAY! ... if not .. oh well ... :|

There was also the scene between Kaji and Misato. I don't remember which episode. But, just stay away from the end of the series if you don't want to see nudity. They don't actually show anything, but some people didn't care for it.

Anyone who says that hasn't seen one or the other. They are so different it's not even funny. Sure it has some of the same elements but it's like saying Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is a rip off of Vampire Hunter D. It just doesn't work.

crimsonElegy: Don't skip eps because of nudity. It's like not watching Trigun because of the black cat. If you can't handle some skin, don't bother watching it at all. It's like saying "I can eat dinner but oh no not with a *GASP* a f-f-f-FORK!!!"

There's virtually no nudity in Evangelion at all. And even the brief non-existant nudity that is in the series is completely mind-based, it's not like you ever actually see anything. So I think you'll be alright. :)
