This is just my opinion, I'm not trying to sound like an authority. This is for people who don't want to download all these suggestions to see what their like. I've tried Windows Media Player, Media Player Clasic, BSplayer, Realone Player, Jetaudio, and Winamp.

I look for a balance of features and speed, that is, I like a player with a lot of features but I also want one that doesn't take forever to load. Not crashing is good too (Winamp...)

Realone is small and simple and quick but it doesn't play everything and sometimes cuts of the last 4 seconds.

Winamp - I haven't used it for a long time so maybe the current version is better but I remember it having decent features but being buggy and taking forever to load.

BSplayer - I didn't like this one for some reason. It seemed a little slow and the controls were counterintuitive. Even when I tried to customize them it still didn't work they way I wanted it to. To each their own I guess.

Windows Media Player - takes a long time to open videos and doesn't have the best features, I don't care for it but it's okay if you have a huge collection of videos and songs and you want to manage them.

Winner Media Player Classic - A tiny quick player that plays everything. Everyone with windows should have this as a backup if nothing else.

Winner Jetaudio - this player is awesome. It plays everything, it pretty quick (incredibly quick if your going off a playlist) and has tons of features. It has WAV/MP3 conversion, CD burning, CD ripping, internet radio, and best of all a searchable playlist that can save you from spending 5 minutes looking for "that one video." The controls are excellent and has some nice touches that I've never seen in a audio/video player before. Highly recommended!

Hope that clears things up.
