Looking for specific type of anime for new video.

Post by shamerock2000 » Thu Apr 01, 2004 1:40 am

Hey, whats up everyone, I stopped working on videos for a bit, due to lack of ideas, but I have a really good one, now I just need the anime to use.

I am generally looking for Anime about more or less gang/street life, and or anime that focuses on hard times for people or the main character in general.

If any one has any suggestions to anything close to this, I would be really greatful if you could just post some suggestions.

Thanks!

Sukeban Deka! Nothing better than girl-gangs.

Uhm...let's see, what else....

Hard times for everyone...sounds like you want post-apocalyptic stuff, then....

Fist of the North Star
M.D. Geist
Violence Jack
Apocalypse Zero

Although...there's a whole lot of violence in those anime. And the first three are classics (meaning: poorer animation by today's standards).
Life's short.

It's probably not real helpful, since I don't think it's available in NSTC anything, but there's an excellent title out there called Bounty Hunter: The Hard....real hard-bitten PI show, tough times all around, a good bit of gang content. (saw it subtitled in German -- PAL VHS. Ouch for source purposes.)

You might also take a look at Mad Bull; it's a psycho cop show, commercial distro in North America, but it might not be out on DVD (because it kinda sucks). I haven't seen it, but anything the Japanese set in New York is gonna be tough as nails.

Also, "Sakigake! Cromartie High" is another one in that type of category.

Can't speak for "Mezzo Forte" directly but from previous amv's I've seen I'm fairly sure it does, there is also a new Mezzo series right now called "Mezzo DSA". I haven't seen many episodes of it yet but I think it might have the same kind of material (If you can't find anything under "Mezzo", try "Mezo" just incase I'm wrong about the spelling) in it.
