and in other news, who gives a shit what is anime? Watch something based on how you like it, not which country made it.

i agree that this horse has taken enough beatings (old topic/issue) but why stop now?

the problem i have is i can't call all animation 'anime' since a lot of animation that i've seen from the east has a lot more intelligence in it than western animation does, i have a certain amount of respect for the term 'anime' therefore i have trouble calling american shows 'anime' because most of them (if not all) are loony, therefore 'cartoons' (for whatever reason 'car' is part of that) are not 'anime'
but i also have problem calling loony eastern animation like pokemon 'anime' because it's so kidey it's looney and almost a cartoon... but even pokemon shows more emotion than 'The Simpsons' (i love the simpsons btw) , at least the first couple episodes did

so i think the easiest thing to do would be to just say animation, it's easy to say and it applies to every animation, just.. animation

except for kiddy anime, i will continue to call kiddy anime, kiddy anime because it's aimed at kids... such as pokemon (the cursed reference anime)

me: you like animation?
person: yeah.. some
me: anything specific?
person: anime 8)

cartoons was a term used back in the 50's and 60's and it refeared to the old drive-in theaters .. back when they would show things like bugs bunny and other such thing as trailers for the main featcher so that's where the car is from FYI
