Buu is one of the carictures that you cant help laugh at when you see them.(besides hercule or the ginu force.)

I haven't actually seen/heard DBZ in Japanese

but I have a CD with DBZ music and in one song called "Kamehameha Megamix" you can hear some of the characters talking in Japanesee.

At first I was like

but then I was just laughing

On the CD, Vegeta talks too and he has kinda the same rough voice. as soon as I heard it I was like... That totally has to be VEGETA

The best part of Dragon Ball Z was when Captain Ginju did the dance of special words for Freezer... His obsession with balls was pretty funny anyway.

So the Testicle in the Smurf hat is Buu.

Is he/it a comedy type villian, or a destroy the world type villian? Either in his big dr dre version, or in his little stretchy version.
In other words... if I see a battle in a DBZ video, rare though I know that might be, should I be impressed? Or do all the villians in DBZ basically have to power to destroy the earth, and they get stopped each episode?

So far I know:

Vegeta = good
goku = good
greenpointy eared guy = ?
Buu = bad, or funny bad.

blonde = "I'm done playing and I"m going to actually kick your ass now"
blonde with lots of glow = "for real this time"
blonde with lots of glow and really long hair = "now you've done it, watch me vaporize your ass"

Am I on the right track here?

Not that you'll probably care, since it all seems to be very sarcastic...

But "Majin Buu" was originally a demon created by the magician Bibidi. Bibidi was killed, but Buu managed to kill a couple gods, and absorb a couple others. One of them was the high mucky-muck god, who was fat and had a good attitude. Buu took on some of these traits (became very fat and childlike).

Buu was sealed away, blah blah blah, later resurrected by Bibidi's son, Babidi (yes... Bibidi, Babidi, Buu).

Akira Toriyama was pressured by fans and editors to continue to the series past the Freeza saga, which is where he originally planned on ending it. As a way to play with the fans, his new "villain" for DBZ was... Buu. A big, powerful... fat... pink... thing... that liked to laugh and have fun.

He eventually changes forms and becomes even more insane, but that's another story.
