I have no idea.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

And I'll put aside my fear of legos in order to watch it.

And all will be right with the world!

For the length of the movie, anyway! ;)

This site will be shut down due to pressure from increasingly strict copyright laws. It will be forced to relocate to India, where Phade will probably be working anyway in order to avoid negative impact from outsourcing mania.

Oh, and we'll all be tracked by a totalitarian government, since we'll all be criminals by then.

The future will suck. I know it.

[falsetto]IN THE YEAR TWO THOU-[/falsetto]

Wait, not only is that past already, nobody's gonna get the reference.

Anyway.

In the future, advances in codec development and video editor capabilities will make it even easier for people to make shiny-looking crap without expending any real effort, or even any money on source footage.

AMVs will overpenetrate the marketplace and cause Microsoft and Intel's DRM initiatives to fail it. The world will be ruled by Sonic Foundry's Video Factory, running on multiprocessor XLIW architecture from AMD under a revived BeOS (hey, a guy can dream).

Conventions will feature ballrooms full of wannabe editors, fighting for golden "make a trailer for us" tickets dangled overhead on fishing lines by distributor representatives. This tradition will come to a screeching halt when a newbie is accidentally eaten in one of these melees.

Advances in audio-manipulation and translation software will make simultaneous broadcast of new titles possible worldwide, putting the entire non-Japanese dub voice actor community out of work...until the sub fanatics realize that (gasp) some Japanese seiyuu also suck. The unemployed voice actors kick Hollywood's collective ass anyways and force North America to redevelop a worthwhile non-kiddie animation industry.

Twenty years in the future, wanting to step down from his Benevolent-Dictator-For-Life post to spend more time with his family, Phade organizes a worldwide AMV-Iron-Chef-and-open-fist-fighting tournament to determine his successor. After a year of bloody combat and execrably gratuitous 3-D overlay effects, AD Junior avenges his father and defeats HungryCrackpot for the championship title using Goldfish Warning, the big-beat-techno remix of Metallica's "Invisible Kid", and Dragon Dumpling Invincible-Under-Heaven kung fu.

Ari will become the first editor to pass the three, four, and five-digit marks for numbers of videos created before being assassinated by an insanely jealous Gerry Hsu.

Unfortunately, I will not live to see any of this, as I will be dead long before from either self-induced spinal fracture or total liver failure...maybe in combination. I will leave a small body of work, a smaller body of semi-fans pissed off about subpar editing, and a strongbox marked TEH 3VIL - DO NOT OPEN.

Nobody will have the courage to open it and find out what *I* would consider so evil as to lock away forever.

:D
