confusing with files

i know people are probably tired of all these topics and i read the guides but am still totally confused i got all the way to the .d2v step in ermacs guide on how to rip from dvds and then i got seriously confused will somebody please help me

Are you specifically having trouble with the DVD2AVI part of the guides, or are you confused with the part after that using AVISynth? The instructions for creating a d2v file is pretty self-explanatory, and I assume you're having trouble with AVISynth. In case you didn't see the link to this already, read the Introduction to AVISynth part of the guides before moving on. Afterwards, you should have a clearer understanding of the "Using the DVD2AVI Project" section of the "Ripping and Editing DVD Footage" guide.

Ok... so exactly where is it that you can't get past?

To an initiate all this script writing, extensions this, that and the other can seem confusing. Once you have done it a couple of times you'll be surprised that you ever thought it was so impossible.

Don't get frustrated. Take it step by step.

Experiment, do trial and error. Who knows that could help you better understand about ripping than just following the guide.
